Hehe, yes, you're right. That would be unfortunate :)

That is why I obtained a new server which will have limited FTP access, meaning you can upload, but can't delete anything :)

I'll give you all the necessary info once everything is set up. Your uploads were erased as well unfortunately so it would be great if you could keep everything and re-upload once the new setup is done.

P.S. I edited my post up there with my version of the story... does that sound possible to you?

I have Norton Anti-virus 2003, thank you very much Kosta

You mean there is an even better program avaiable?

(And I keep backup of everything, so you can get the files. No sweat).

To me, EVERYTHING sounds possible when it come to internet. I am new at this, remember? I'm learning stuff every day, that I did not think was possible!

Oh well, thankfully I keep backups too :)

We'll just wait and see what brittish telecom will say. And once I split the servers we can have everything up & running again :)

What is the best anti-virus program of today?

Tom wants it! He wants it now! NOW!!!

Well, I certainly hope it wasn't any of the games i recently uploaded for you to have a look at. i download loads and so does much of my family, so maybe a virus could have got through.. I dunno, we try to scan often and normally it would pick up the virus straight away if one came in, but if a new one slipped through, bam.

I say we shoot the mother*&%#$&@. The one good thing is that we know it was not someone from the site itself.
Every once in a while I get an attack from subseven myself. Luckily my firewall+virusscanner have stopped every attack so far. Thank God for Kosta's advanced computer skills. Not only does it give us a very nice looking site it also makes this nothing more then an annoyance.

Norton Antivirus is widely acclaimed as the best there is. It needs to be updated regularly but not a lot gets through. Scan your computer once a week to make sure you are not infected.

Since it is evident that my inept fire-wall and antivirus caused the site to be deleted. :( I would like to express my sincere apologies to all the users of abandonia.

I shall do my best to avoid such incidents in the future.

Again, I am sorry.

(My computer is set to autoscan my computer whenever it is idle. If I leave it on for half an hour, without doing anything, it starts to scan).

So, what you are saying is that this was just a lucky shot by some geek with a computer?!

Danny252 08-05-2004 08:25 PM
