I am really looking forward to try this game out. I played Morrowind a lot, and liked it very much. Unfortunaly my computer and all my games where stolen christmas evening, and I couldn't affort a computer that could run Morrowind  , so I guess I have to do with this one.

Great job putting this game on the site, and great review :ok:

thanks.
if you're into morrowind you'll probably prefer Daggerfall
but arena is good too

Arena is a great game!
I can't say that about Daggerfall. Boring repeating scripts, mucho bugs, and the MAP - oh the map in 3D - the creator should be shot for that jewel!

as I said
Daggerfall was a bugridden game
but if it was stable it would have been an excellent game

Can someona help me? I'm running Arena in DosBox on Windows XP and it moves slow and sluggish. I've tried speeding up with CTRL+F12, but nothing happens. This only starts when in the 3D view.

You can adjust the speed of the game in the game's options itself, also. Just set it to the higher value, but better not the highest. Then it starts to skip frames, if I remember correctly. ;)

Thanks FreeFreddy, but it seems it was the DosBOX speed after all. It starts at 2500 cicles, and the game runs best at 22000 cicles, so I just had to press a little longer :).

FreeFreddy 09-09-2004 04:21 PM

At 22000 cycles?
What kind of PC do you have then? For me around 14000 is the limit for most games and my PC is P4 2.4 Ghz (yet)...

well
in case anybody is interested
TES IV will probably be official announced tomorrow (site opening)
I say probably, but I think this screen speaks for itself:
countdown 1

Yo, Stroggy ma man, how did you put screenchots on the forum? How do I put them in the message?

Stroggy 13-10-2004 11:32 AM

when you write a reply you can click on the button with IMG written on it (its right about the text window in which you type.
A box will come up asking you for the URL of the image (this link should always end with .jpg or .gif or one of the other imagefile extensions)
make sure the image isn't TOO big (a full wallpaper for example) or 56K'ers will hunt you down with sticks
