Sounds like one of the guy's I saw playing LARP lat time, he carried a bag full of ping-pong balls and he threw them at people yelling Fireball! Fireball!.
If you're gonna play LARP, make sure there's no one watching but your fellow players.

I have a great story about one of my mother's friends who LARPS.

He's properly into it and everything, has a sword that he bought froma weapons shop, all of that. Plays a Warrior I think.

But the problem was that they went down into a 'dungeon' which was basically just a small cave. Aparentely he nearly pissed himself because he's so claustrophic, and couldn't stand to move anywhere, so everyone behind him just got pissed off and went home.

Six hours later they went back to have another go, they called his house but he wasn't there.

He was actually still in the cave entrance.

Anyway, I'm into reconstructiony stuff, I like that kind of thing, but pretending to be wizards and fantasy warriors and elves is a bit crazy.

I love D&D, but I wouldn't go out and do it myself.

Damn right you say. :ok:
Another man on that Russian forum told the same. He said, that on tolkienists gatherings there are much of drinking beer and playing fool, with swords, than real playing. So all normal tolkienists are in reconstruction clubs. I would gladly go there, if I had any in my town. Such a pity...
I agree, that thinking about yourself, that you are elf all the time, is crazy. Normal people won't ever think about it.

I've seen worse... people thinking they're animals and making animal sounds, it was really disturbing
