I suppose pretty much any Japanese RPG would count as an anime game, from the Final Fantasy series, Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana etc.

Waku Waku, Samurai Showdown and any other number of countless 2 player battle style games.

King of Fighters and the Dragon Quest series pretty good, I recommend them.
