As a general guideline, always, always, ALWAYS check to see if a patch is available for a game before you play it. Any game, no matter how old or new.
Except if you're on 56k <_< ... [/b][/quote]
I know how sad this is for people caught using modems, these days. Unfortunately, the sheer size of most games means huge patches. There are ways around that, such as offering groups of small patches for users in your situation, but most developers don't pursue this route.

My best suggestion would be to get a friend with cable to download the files to CD for you, or to make an arrangement with some Internet cafe that supports copying files to CD.

Good lord..........I've mentioned Suikoden II for PSX in this thread a couple of times, and how it's definitely the best console RPG that most people haven't played, and is arguably the best console RPG period......and I knew it was difficult to find now. But I was just browsing over a list of greatest RPGs with links to purchase them, and most of the older Final Fantasies and such were available for under 30 dollars. Suikoden II? 119.95. I didn't realize it was quite THAT rare; I guess people are hoarding whatever available copies are left. It's a shame really, because it deserves to be played by as many people as possible but I doubt many new players will find it if it's so rare that it costs over 100 dollars.

Kit, you probably should have started your own topic in Blah blah blah. Your question is valid and in fact more people would see it.

And I wonder who bothers that you suck... <_<
Only someone who didn't play Baldur's Gate II will say it sucks. Better play it through, then throw your opinions out.

I never played Baldur's Gate II, unfortunately. But I really wasn't that impressed with the first Baldur's Gate; there are plenty of RPG titles that I think are better than it.

Stebbi 10-01-2005 06:34 PM

well i the think the series og the forgotten ralms is the best games of all time :sneaky: to bad the arent going to make baldurs gate 3 or icewindale two. :bye: :bye: :bye:

MasterGrazzt 10-01-2005 06:37 PM

They already made Icewind Dale 2. Look it up.

By the way, the story of Baldur's Gate is over. There's no point in a BG3.

Lastly, Ed, Baldur's Gate 2 is a total 360 turn from the original. Ten times better.

I second this. BG2 included numerous improvements imported in part from Planescape: Torment, which the BG2 team acknowledged in public. There's a great deal more interparty dialog. Alignment has several effects. Party members may even very occasionally take control of the action. You don't have to walk long distances to get to important destinations; you take quick shortcuts. You can highlight objects for pickup using a key, and there are a lot more spells, items, weapons, etc, than before. The game also feels as though it were aimed at a somewhat older audience.
