Gaming championships can be lucrative. When Nvidia has the need to showcase their new hardware and organise a big lanparty for it, you can get some big cash prices when you win.

That was strange, I have logged in about 65 hours (with breaks to go to the toilet, eat and walk for 2-3 min every few hours) and never had any problem. I was much younger at the time, but still. (then I was asleep for about 13 hours, my second most high record sleeping)

Of course it is not healthy at all. There is also blood clotting that might cause a problem.

Nowdays I can barely play about 4 hours in a row without the need for a break, even if it is 20 min one.

Un?fortunately, I don't. When I first tried the game (back then) I quickly got bored of it so I never touched it again.

Longest I've ever played a game was Starcraft, and I played it for 22 hours straight before my parents came out and yelled at me and threatened to ban me from the computer for a month if I didn't get off.

When I was staying at my brother's place in Utah this summer, one of his roommates played Counter Strike for 36 hours straight,, stopping only to go to the bathroom, and to grab a few slices of pizza to eat while playing. When he finally came out of his room around noon, he was walking with his hands out to the side like he was sneaking. He would pause at all corners and very slowly peer around, then pull back, then peer around again to make sure it was safe or something. My brother said "Hey!" to him from behind, and he turned around and tried to shoot him with his fingers :bleh: Then he realized what he was doing, took a sleeping pill, and slept for 18 hours. His eyes were sooooooooo bloodshot. It was funny to watch :D

I've heard of that before, around the year 2000. It sounds exactly the same to this new one here. A guy named Lee in South Korea dies in an internet cafe after playing lots of computer. Either its a hoax, or people haven't learned their lesson.

uhh.. you forgot to read the whole topic. LOOK AT THE FIRST POST!

Yobor,
It’s not hoax. Apparently a lot of people in Korea took (online) gaming very seriously.
