My legs got smashed off. I ran out of healthpacks. Still, the mission was won.

I spent about two hours chatting to people, getting thrown out of the kitchen by the cook every single bloody time I tried to get in there and examining lots of lamps and random bits of rope in the vain hope of stumbling upon a clue. Then I tried to get drunk at the bar, but couldn't.

That's a story from Cruise for a Corpse, obviously.

Playing Ultima Online for my first week back years ago when the came was still pretty new...

Alot of people lurked outside of the towns to kill you and steal everything of value off your body, so you learned not to carry anything too valuable if you were either going alone or it just wasn't worth it.
I traded in all my money for a suit of armor that I wouldn't wear outside of town because I was not strong enough yet and I knew it would be taken- so my only material possessions were some bandages, a few torches, and my underwear (you can't sell that LOL)

I needed to make some money so a group of even more younger and inexperianced players (and mind ya I only played for a week) needed a guide to the next town and since I needed money for pants I figured..sure I would show them the way.

as we are a good distance outside of town, an Orc Shaman attacks the group and I being the hired guide tell them all to run and try to hold off the Orc Shaman. Instead of running they decide to watch as my character armed with only his torch and absolutely nothing else but his underwear tried to keep the Orc busy. I am running in circles and beating it over the head..and healing myself with bandages as I run around in circles yelling "WOULD YOU RUN! GET OUT OF HERE."

They never ran, and instead took screenshots, finally the Orc kills me with a lightening spell and I run out of bandages. And immediatly kills a few of them off too. Talk about mass stupidity.

Well after I was brought back to life, I was paid, but its the last time I try to play distraction to save a group of people. Besides I lost my torch and bandages.

Once upon a time,i was at the Discworld Mud.

I was a cool.handsome gentleman thief named Sir Jesse.
I met this man. He was from the city watch. He told me that he was a king.
I laughed at him and told that no one from the city watch cant be a king.
He became angry and he challenged me to a drinking contest.
We went to the mended drum. In there,we met this nice wizard. He made a two pints of alcohol drink(with chocolate flavor) for us.
We drinked until we dropped.
Couple of minutes later,i woke up in a cell.

"Never drink with the city watch."

@Doc Adrian - Do you know where we can get those screenshots. We would really like to see it.

And now for something different :P

Hidden behind a rockslide on a small ledge jutting from the side of a cliff, an adventurer called Wendy discovered a dark, mysterious cave and an even darker tunnel which led into a cavern with a towering rocky ceiling. The cavern was lit by an eerie green light that seeped from the phospherous coated walls.

Wendy discovered that this eerie cavern had four more tunnels leading away into darkness from opposite sides of the cavern. She chose the tunnel on the top right and stumbled through the darkness for what seemed like hours. The rocky ground became increasingly slippery from the water trickling down one side of the tunnel. Gradually the sound of powerful, crashing waves echoed through the tunnel, terrifying the lone adventurer as it seemed as if the narrow space would soon be filled with rushing water and she would be swept to a horrible death.

But Wendy believed that courage and persistence could only be rewarded, so she continued carefully through the tunnel straining to see through the blackness ahead. The tunnel began sloping upwards, gradually at first and then more steeply. This seemed like a promising sign, especially when the sound of thundering waves gradually receded.

Then a spear of golden light shone a long way ahead but appeared to come from the tunnel's end. Wendy finally stepped out onto a lush foreshore filled with tropical flowers. Adjoining the foreshore was a pristine sandy beach and a bay of sparkling water that stretched away into the horizon. On the beach was a raised, golden dais with two winged horses positioned at each side.

Wendy grinned rapturously as she looked around at the splendiferous place surrounding her. She knew she had found her way to the magical island of Kyrandia where enchantment and beauty, adventure and fun would surely fill every day into infinity.

Amen.

LOL I have a goodie from Morrowind too!

You know the dwarf who falls from the sky at the beginning of the game as you exit the city (the one with the boots)?

Well I thought to myself 'I bet I can land that enormous and impressive jump in water!'.

What actually happened is that I missed the water by about three feet. Messy.

Never tried it again. Can anyone tell me if you can do it?

Tulac 13-06-2005 07:18 PM

I remember that by using those 3 scrolls (of Icarus flight, right?), I was able to fly from Caldera to Balmora, ofcourse I didn't survive, about jumping into the water I think it's possible to survive then...

OT: I really noticed that lately many of the gaming threads are in the blah, blah, blah forum, I actually counted 4!!
