At first, it didn't work on my computer either, then I ran the install.exe file. This will setup the sound and graphics. You have to set it to VGA and SoundBlaster. Try that, and run it in dosbox afterworth, maybe it will work.

run loadfix -1 in dosbox before starting wing commander.

I tried that. Didn't work. Why is that?

I've played ALL the WC games that exist so far, but this one I have only been able to play in Amiga, and it wasn't the best perfomance. Now I get a chance to try it on PC and it works a LOT smoother. But...damnit...second mission freezes.

Please help.

Same problem as another poster -- I can open it in Dosbox and yet the opening screen just freezes -- no animation, no earth swooping away before me. I'm a tad frustrated as I have a friggin Pentium 4 with 512MB. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Travv

If you hate copy protection just search for a program called neverlock. It can patch Wing Commander so u can bypass the copy protection. Works for many other older games too.
