:help:

Is the file corrupted in some way? When I unzipped the files (into a folder I created, "IG") and ran the game, the text doesn't work correctly!

1: When I try to speak to someone (e.g.: Inspector Gadget in the first scene), the text box is blank!

2: The white rectangle which is supposed to state what I'm highlighting (i.e.: the rectangle that contains the text "Go to?" in all of the pictures on the review page) is empty. The text is just squashed and overlapped somewhere on the left hand side of the screen (in the space of 1 or 2 letters, the whole word is squeezed), making it illegible.

I'm guessing that there is an error on the "text" file, but I'm not sure. Seems like I'm the only one with this problem.

Oops, forgot to add - I already tried downloading the game again from the site - but got the same problem!

Well you don't get to chose what you'll say. Penny will just ask Gadget about the call. When you click on the talk icon and the text Talk to apeares - just click on Gadget.

I managed to work that out - and then got Inspector Gadget out of Dr. Claw's castle, but without the text I can't work out very well what to do next!

I take it I'm the only one running into this problem then?

OK - I'll get the walkthrough (not the first time I'd write one). It will be done before the end of the weekend.

EDIT: Another afternoon gone, but at least you have the Walkthrough again.

Er.....never mind. I managed to work out the problem!

Turns out the problems I mentioned only occur when I run the game in Dosbox (version 0.63). If I run the game in Win XP, no text problems!

BUT: my mouse doesn't work in the game if it is run in XP!
Luckily, the game allows the use of the keyboard (arrow and enter keys)

Unfortunately, the arrow keys are not precise enough to enable you to take certain small items on certain screens (i.e.: the cursor cannot be maneouvered (spelling?) over the key when trying to use the magnet on it in Dr. Claw's castle, without the mouse)

The only solution I had was to run game in XP, get to a point where I couldn't get an object without a mouse, saved the game, exited, ran game in dosbox, loaded up, used the mouse to get/use the necessary object, saved, exited, then restarted the game in XP.

Also, I managed to complete the game! Took a few hours I think (took quite a while before I worked out what to do with the bits that make up the robot remote!)
