Holy words Fifth!
Ok, this is the only buy link I've found.
Frodo, you can upload it :ok:

Hmm, I uploaded Drascula (the game, and scans of box and cd). It installs fine, but it doesn't seem to work if cd is not in the drive. Is there a way round that?

Ripped CD games were cracked with programs named NOCD, FAKECD, etc. But maybe someone else knows more than I.

Maybe there's not even a need for it. How big are the CD files if zipped? Maybe the whole CD could be on the site (some games were on CDs and didn't take up more then 50MB).

A little crack?

I was thinking more along the lines of an ISO image like there was with X-Wing, before we realised the game was protected and stopped offering a download.

The entire cd is 32.9 MB zipped. Not very big. :bleh:
You want me to upload it? ^_^

Sebatianos 21-08-2007 11:44 PM

An ISO image of the CD. I guess that'd be the best idea, but it might need Kosta's OK.

Like I said, we have had such a case on Abandonia before (X-Wing), but it's not the usual practice.

Still the file is not that big and it's better then skippig things out of it or making a crack (my opinion, but hopefully not the only one who thinks so).

The only counter-argument is, that the user has to know which program he needs, how to create a virtual CD drive with it, how to mount an image and has to do it, or has to know which program he needs, how to burn an image to CD with it and has to do it. And even when he knows, it is more complicated than download and play or download and play with DOSBox, a simple and widely familiar program (which you also have to use when you have an image). But after all I'm for offering games as original as possible.
