LOL ok, i knew that russia isn't exactly a "rich" country.... :P But as far as i know they have nuclear plants ( even if most of them are ancient :P )

You nailed the problem, Lothar. These plants are so ancient that they are not allowed to use them, other than as museums.

Ancient nuclear plants aren't a problem of russia only... there is one also and in Bulgaria, very near the Greek borders, and the Greek ( and other ) goverments here in the region have asked repeatedly to shut it down because th plant is working since the 50s... Its a a real nightmare here for the entire balkans ( but this plant is providing over 30% of the whole electric production of Bulgaria )
