I have been recommended Nox some time ago. It's a bit different to Diablo, but really nice. Some people think it's even better.

The good thing about Nox is, that it seems to be freeware. There is a large forum supporting this game: Nox Forum

Mm, Arcanum, sexy...
Arcanum also has a clone, don't remember the title however.

There was a nice 2D game under Windows 3x, where you could play similar character as in Diablo. It was an "icon" based game, you traveled into underground dungeon, oponents were also icons, but they were moving. On the sunlight you had shops, blacksmith, "identifier" (as you also find and get magic items unidentified). You could give better equipment to the character, etc. So it was completly like Diablo and came out before Diablo several years. First I thought it has same authors. Unfortunately I had only a shareware version, and it is also lost. I found that game on your links which sent me to Wiki and it redirected me a site: http://lkbm.ecritters.biz/cotw/screens.html; Game name: "Castle of the Winds". It has that time nice graphics (you can create your character icon!!) and tactics (as some opponent were interesting, they were sometimes only taking your money and get lost immediatelly, if you was not strong enogh or you had no spells. :) ). I can't judge the sound, as that time I had no sound card. It seems, now you can get the game for free as author released it for free. :)

Anyhow DiabloI is/was a very nice game. I still like and once a year playing it. Diablo II was not so nice graphics and storry :sick:...weak, but for Diablo-fans could be interesting.
I hope Diablo III will be as good as Diablo I.

I remember this game called Druid (or something). And it's not old C=64 Druid or Druid 2 which were arcade games (and both much fun, especially if you had a second player to control summoned creatures).

Back to the topic, this game was an adventure/rpg clone. You didn't have free scrolling on a level like in Diablo, but you needed to move from one screen to another, solve a puzzle there or collect an item or get a clue or fight a monster. I think it was a dos game.

Well, thanks to the google, I found the game:

Druid - Daemons of the Mind

And it is abandoware!

What's ISO Cellar?

In case no one has mentioned it;
Throne of Darkness.
You control multiple characters in a d2 like enviro, japanese-styled.
Its got the basic crap, loot drops, hordes of evil monsters, ninjas, heads on pikes, massive demons from hell...
Good luck affording anything crafted, you're not rich enough.
The formation control is actualy quite impressive, the game seal of evil I believe was built on the same process, s.e.o. however, stinks, I'd rather eat the unidentifiable garbage from a resteraunt.

The ISO Cellar is a subsection of this forum. I think when you reach certain amount of forum posts, it will appear. Just post as usual, don't spam, enjoy your stay on this forum, and soon you'll see it :)
