Although the tradition would be to gather at grandmas (I do visit her OK - she wouldn't get off my back for months if I, or anyone else, would miss out). Then at midnight the tradition would be to go to church and pray (it's supposed to be crowded in a church and full off little children with their parents,...). No way I'm doing that - even if my life depends on that (haven't been to a church service in all my life yet - and won't be EVER).

25th December is the most borring day ever!!! Why? Because the tradition here says that family must gather together and celebrate Christmas whole day! This actually means - no outgoings, no pc, no tv, only parents, grand parents and sisters/brothers!

I do all my christmas shopping on the 23rd, after I ask what everyone wants for christmas first of course. Then I wrap them on the 24th, usually get my mum to do a couple of them. Then I go to bed late and wake up late (delliberately).

My family barely even celebrates christmas. This christmas I will sleep late in my own apartment and then go to my grandma's house later in the day. that's it.

Germans go hard at christmas. It's been a few years since I've been there, but they go all out.

EVERYONE is in Christmas mood, everything looks christmassy. They have Christmas markets that fill up the town squares/centres and they sell Gluehwein and Liebkucken. (Mulled wine and these cinnamon heart christmas cake things, yum)

Yeah, the mulled wine, you can think it's not that hard, but when you drank 3-4 glasses, you'll fast notice how it makes you very happy... LOL
And you can pretty easy burn your tongue while drinking it, not only because it's hot, but more because it's hot alcohol. As it happened to me recently, too. :D

I hate xmas pudding... but mince pies... yumyumyumyumyumyum *gulp*

My mom buys the packaged versions at some store. I don't like em.

My wife's a lapsed Methodist. I'm a witch, and Wiccan, and have been, for several decades: this is (for lack of a better correspondent) Yule, for me. We give a few gifts to one another because it reminds her of her childhood, but we don't do lights, old films with fake-happy endings, or churches. :D
