Once you become accostumed to the interface, it's ok, if you don't mind a little clicking around. There's also a book at the top of the control/interface page which has realms of information about Egyptian gods and goddesses. To open the letter you can either drop it on the 'ground' and read it there, or open it in the inventory which you reach by right clicking the object, I think.

EDIT:
Just went into the game again to refresh the memory. The way to drop the letter on ground and read it is by left clicking the letter in the left hand bottom corner. If you want to take the letter into the inventory and read it, then you left click the letter on the bottom right hand corner.

Do you know how to save the game?

You put your mouse down the bottom on the right hand side and a scrolling paper icon will appear. You left click on this and you will then be taken into the inventory and control page. You click on a book that is one from the bottom called something like 'Cooks Tours' and it will open. At the bottom of the page facing you are a list of options. The option at the bottom called Your Journey Options or something similiar is the one u click to be taken to the page where you can save, load exit, etc.

I don't want to say here as it might spoil it for others. There aren't a lot of puzzles in this game and this is one of the few crucial ones. There's a walkthrough you can download on the review page. Or if you're really stuck, I can pm you with the answers.

:help: can somebody pleeeaase tell me how i am supposed to give the letter of credit to the greek woman?? i tried putting it down next to her hand but that does not seem to work... :angry:

I remember that I kept clicking the letter ON her and it finally disappeared and the game proceeded.
