Are you sure it's a program that's doing that? Try checking the autolaunch entries in your registry first.

To clean the registry I use RegScrubXP, if anyone is interested...

And about the ZoneAlarm discussion, I think that their spyware/virus funtction are not so good, but the firewall itself had fully protected my PC for years... Someone talk me very well about another free firewall: Komodo (or Comodo), but I don't need to change...

Not as much help as a hint (sorry): I googled a bit on ad.firstadsolution.com and it seems there are lots of people having problems like that. Too many forums to quote, but do google and see if any answers there solve your problems.

found a solution of the problem after googling for quite some time, and trying out numerous applications. I found a small file combofix.exe and it found the problem, it was some look2me spyware.[/b]
But thanks for trying to help :P

I only use the firewall in ZA.

the only problem i have with it is when computer reboots by istelf and then the only file corrupted on main disk drive is ZA log file.

so far the firewall seems to be working. i know it is now perfect, but it was free and i've been using ZA for quite some time. nevr treied Kerio Personal Firewall. does it work on win98?

I'd never buy Norton, that's the worse thing you could do to your PC. Norton take over like everything on your computer and you can't even uninstall it if you wish to.

I have ZA installed on my computer since I have it, and I never got a problem with it. I just don't understand what you guys could possibly find bad on ZA.

LOL, that's funny - Norton pwns anything. I can search through any site or anything and any virus threat I get I can laugh my a55 off LOL. Nothing penetrates the PC and ZA I've never even heard about.

velik_m 20-10-2006 05:04 PM

you think nothing penetrates...

from wikipedia:
Quote:

Norton AntiVirus was criticized in the past because of Symantec's policy that allows spy software (keyloggers/backdoors) of US secret services, such as the FBI (Magic Lantern) and the CIA (Oasis), to bypass Norton's malware detection [2][/b]
plus Norton is not free.
