I only broke 100,000,000 by 2001. I'm from the UK though and I was using GBP instead of US$ does that make any differnce? I'll try again. What are you guys using for screenshots? I tried pressing the Print Scrn button but that didn't work, I'll have to try HyperSnapDX or something.

Try Snag It. ;)

I never played this game, even I am strategy fun.

Will try it probably this weekend. ;)

From ExchangeRate.com: 100,000,000 USD US Dollar = 54,143,000 GBP Pound Sterling.

This would mean that you're halfway there, by current standards (I have no idea what standard was really used in the game).

To make a screenshot I used the option built in the game itself. Go on the big red ? and hold the menu there until it dropdown (instead of using the ? option) and go to "Take a screenshot". You then only need to convert the .pcx to .jpg and post it on this thread. That's what I did so I am pretty sure it will be alright for the image size limit of this board.

I recommend that you use US$ dollards for the challenge. Having to convert the currency each time would be hazardous at best and may result in false convertions. If everyone use the US$ standard from the game then we will be absolutly sure that everyone is equal.

I also tryied to make as much money as possible with another landscape (I always use the random generator). I took the desert landscape (for the sake of not always playing the same thing, which get boring) and managed to only get 36,000,000$ by my old record (1996). There is probably a set landscape which bring more money than the others, and so everyone knows I did the current record on the default temperate landscape.

On transport tycoon most exchange rates are very simple, most are 10x or 2x US$, 1GB? = 2US$. This means that UberDave got 200 million dollars and beat us all.

Is game made in units (no mather what units are)???

Is it the same number of units you have to pay for somehting?

Eagle of Fire 11-11-2004 07:20 AM

Well I don't know much about currencies. Unless someone can give me the official standings of the game I won't go into transferring them from one currency to another.

The challenge is quite precise on one thing tough; the point is not to get as much money as possible but to get to 100,000,000$ as soon as possible. Thus this mean that Uberdave would come second to me because his snapshot would be from 2001, whatever the total $ would really be.

How the heck you play this game?

Right now I got some stady income, but still far belove 100000000.

Eagle of Fire 26-12-2004 07:30 AM

Hehehe... Then that's why it's a "challenge" ;)

I actually thought it would be easy to beat...

This screenshot should give you a hint on how I manage to get so much cash early.

Look at the money I gathered with my trains after 5 years... :sneaky:
