I do that too, untill I have the map toofilled and I cannot build anything anymore >:)
Also I wanted to show you all something that I found on Youtube. It`s a theme from the credits of the game played on a piano, sounds so neat ^_^ Here it is: http://youtube.com/watch?v=w0yknDAki4M |
What the deus! I was playing SC2000 with Dosbox for several days and now when I load my city, it's a blank slate. Strangely, I have my population but the terrain and everything I built is gone. Bullcrap.
I even had the actual CD! Though I couldn't get it to run even in 95 compatability mode and ended up using Dosbox. I thought this was the 95 install Cd but it didn't feel like working. Did they even make a Dos CD or does this thing just hate me? |

Nope, even the terrain, hills, trees, bodies of water, they're all gone. Literally the only thing left is a plane circling looking for a runway (I didn't even have an airport), one never-ending tile of fire and some glitchy signs that don't say anything.
I tried to make a new city, and it did the same thing! It seems as soon as I close Dosbox the game forgets my city. Most non-non-heinous. |
Sounds like a corrupt copy of the game, then. Find a different one (and try loading those savegames with it)

I fixed it. I installed it via windows (because I thought it was the 95 version) and that lead to the problems. This time I mounted the CD in dosbox and installed. Works like a charm, even has the sound effects sounding mint. It's just not as fun bulldozing or laying wires without the sound effects.

It's illegal. Check our FAQ for more info. |
According to our information, it's still sold.
This one is due for a re-evaluation shortly, though. |
