slx | It works well with DOSBox and munt emulators. There is normal sound effects and MT-32 music but is there any way to setup this game? |

Once upon a time I desperatly looked after some new thing to play, and layed hand on this. Since then I think twice before buying a game. I long wanted to try out a game where NPCs "live" their own life. Now here it proved itself pure frustrating. The addable commands AND the helper of the protagonist AND the random movement of the NPCs REALLY turned this game a big timewaster and added more to the frustration-factor. In the end I just gave up after countless trial to do something with the magician's alchemy-machine or what. Never got beyond the guarded door. This game sucks, worst game of all time. If you ever bother with it, use walkthrough (when it was first sold internet didn't exist, so if you got stucked, you got stucked, end of story). |

Let's Play: Lure of the Temptress If anybody is interested, I made a Let's Play of this game (having no sound in DOSBox, I added some atmospheric music). Here's the playlist: http://www.youtube.com/view_play_lis...9F27F457E9B7C5 |

Hi all, I love this game. It's sad though, it crashes on me no matter what i try. Linux with Dosbox, scummvm, i even tried playing the GOG version under Windows! It's always at the same moment. I talk to the monks. Then I am waiting for Malin to come around, for the monk's book. And he either never shows, or the game crashes. Anyone had that happen? Thanks Total Anarchy for the town map! You is right, it takes a lot of time to find yuor way around the city, at least for me it did. I started my own map but then I got stuck in the game and gave up. |

The game is kind of short. Most of the time I spent finding my way in the city, which at the beginning I found frustrating (took me a while till I found the forge, haha) and I have even made a map. Lure of the Temptress Town Map It has some problems here and there. The last one was that at the end when you had to distract the guard with the wine in the cellar. Each time I talked with Minnow and sent him to the guard to say that there's someone in the cellar, the guard never came. In the end I just entered the guard room and passed near him as if he doesn't see me. And it worked ! It's a good game, but obviously short. Has some funny moments too, but the funniest I think is when you order Ratpouch to push the bricks and he destroys all the wall, in contrast with your character, Diermot, who couldn't even budge a single brick. |

Playing this in scumm was the only way for me to finish the game, I played it with dosbox and couldnt get pass the point when you look into the shop window to watch the skorl talking with the shop owner. However there was a other bug at the end, could finish it anyway tho. I dont know if this is becuz of dosbox and scumm of if this is just a buggy game. Still a great game! |

blackboard | FWIW I successfully played Lure (including sound) with a recent version of SCUMMVM. Note that SCUMMVM uses its own interpreter (based upon the original source code, I think), thus that does not say much about getting sound with the original executable, but why use Dosbox when you can use SCUMMVM? |

Michl | Hi, I had the same question. The sound is Roland. Just Instruments no real noises. I thought already that i have to configure to soundblaster sound. But how is it done ? In my Lure game-folder there is only Disk1-4.vga, savegame.dta, lure.exe ..... no setup or install file. |

The Fifth Horseman | Configure the game to use Sound Blaster for sound effects. |

Grimreaper | Is there a way to get proper sound for this game? For example, pulling the torch in the beginning just sounds like hitting a piano tangent. I remember playing the amiga version some time ago and having very good background sound effects. |
