Chrome Well to be honest I only tried Sub-Zero's spine rip fatality and only assumed that other fatalities are censored as well. Oddly enough, I found out that Sub-Zero's fatality is the only censored fatality in the game. Bummer, I really like that one :s

arete It sounds like a problem with your settings...

Chrome I got the big download from the ISO Cellar and applied the XP patch to make this work. The sound is ok and the game supports my usb gamepad. There's no music but that's not really an issue. The problem is I can't see any of the fatalities, the screen goes black the moment I perform one. Do you guys know what might be causing this? I was thinking maybe the game's censored but I've got blood and all on so I'm not sure... Copy protection fault, maybe?

twillight I downloaded this again, and this time no error-message. Only it says "windowsNT application".
Darn, I still use Win98... Well, maybe in a year or 10, I'll be able.

@nextinline
Start to try out all buttons before asking that kind of question

The one you linked r.u.s.s.
But the change is occasional (and only applies to WinXP) as reported by others who didn't experienced any changes.

SpiDoL All right, this is the patch I always use for the game, and was what I included in the archive:
http://home.comcast.net/~heavyweight.../mkt/index.htm

I thought it would work portably, but apparently it doesn't. Just reinstall the patch and the game should work fine.

twillight Ok, I searched the net, and the patch should work (although in the connection of the mentioned error-message sme kernel-message was also mentioned, but maybe that's not important), but it requires a file called "UniVBE", what is basically the settings-file for sound, videocard, etc., and currently no included in the download-package.

Oh, and those who use XP, might consider an alternative patch (in case the already mentioened do not work): http://hardwarebg.com/forum/showthread.php?t=8930
The site is russian, but the patch is english, so search fot the name: "mktxpnosp1fix.zip"

because i found no file called WDIRxxF.DLL in my computer and the game runs

edit:i googled around and there seems to be this patch http://totalmortalkombat.alphalink.com.au/MKTPTCH.HTM
don't know what it does, didn't try. but you know, you could try google...
I copied here exactly what it said.
Now I go and check that patch.

EDIT: Doesn't seem to work. The installation-manual of the patch even says to run something named "wconfig" or "UniVBE", but that kind of file doesn't exist in the game's directories.
