Thank you for the hint, Kevin!

reble1 MV75 my OS is Win 7 Home 32bit on a Dell Inspiron 3541 laptop. I just upgraided from a HP -Compaq Presario C700 OS win 7 Home 32bit.

I am having the same problems with "Streets of Sim" and "Sim City 3k unlimited". I run the main setup.exe for ether game. On the cd or with all the files on the cd copyed to a folder on the hard drive. I tryed starting the install via the setup.exe and nothing happens for ether game. I had no problems coping both games into 2 different dir's. and they still won't start.

Works fine here.

All I did was:

1. Extract all files to a folder, not running the setup.exe from the archive.
2. Run setup.
3. Play game.

I didn't change any compatibility settings or anything.

Thank you for pointing me in the right direction (and the fast reply). Works great now!

Halp!

So.... will someone please answer the question about how to get this game to run on a modern version of Windows (FYI I'm using Win 7)? I've seen at least 3 posts saying they have the same problem as me: Can't run the setup file straight from Windows and if I try to run in DosBox, it says "This program requires Microsoft Windows." So far, no clear solutions have been offered.

Some have said they get the message but then are able to start the game. That's not the case on my machine as no executable has been created. Honestly, I wish I could just buy this game off of GOG...

No, he is correct. There was an enhanced CD-ROM released for DOS and Mac. I have it in exodos. You can see a screenshot of it here:
