Hired guns with dosbox under linux.
Same problem for me : music at the beginning, but no sound effects while playing. I created sb/SB16/DRV folder with ct-voice.drv and ctvdsk.drv inside but no sound effect. ctvdsk.drv is an idea found there : http://www.abandonia.com/vbullet/sho...t=18099&page=2
Which file did you use exactly ? Do you have a download link or could you attach that file ?

Thanks

newbie well, I created downloaded the SB.rar on the thread I linked on the initial post and created an sb/sb16 folder

that gives me music

after that, I googled CT-voice.DRV and created a sub folder sb/sb16/drv

whenever I start dos box I type in set sound=C:\sb\sb16

which again gives me the music (If I don't these steps I don't even get that)

but alas, no sound effects

DarthHelmet86 Well what did you do with it? It doesn't just work, you need to put it in the right place and tell Dosbox where to find it. Innocent Until Caught needed it in a folder called DRV and I had to make a batch file to tell Dosbox to "set sound=C:\iuc" (since the DRV folder was in the folder IUC) from there it knew to look into the DRV folder to find the correct file. This works for Innocent Until Caught, I do not know if it will work for this game.

kryt3n Hired Guns needs the CT-VOICE.DRV driver for SB sound effects. See the forum discussion for the game "Innocent Until Caught" for more info about how to set up the driver.

The Fifth Horseman I recall we discussed this a bit in another thread (I think, might have been the chatbox?) and it seems there are multiple versions of the game out there, some with working sound some without.

Hired Guns sound

So, I recently bought Hired Guns for the MS-DOS, it's a first person dungeon crawler RPG by Psygnosis,

problem is, there's no sound.

now, there was a similar thread on abandonia, in which a user discovered a way where we could have music, the problem is, it still doesn't have sound effects

does anyone know what needs to be done?

here is the thread:
