Japo | As EOF says you're supposed to mount disks as disks, copying their contents isn't guaranteed to work. And you don't give us enough information on how exactly you installed and ran the game, and so leave us unclear on the real and virtual paths where you installed the game and tried to run it from. Many games don't work if you try to run them from a different (virtual) path than the one you installed it to. |

Easiest way to do it would be to copy your disk into an iso and mount the iso inside DOSBox. Or even easier: simply mount your disk directly as a CDRom into DOSBox and install the game directly... |

Ascendancy: Running off a disc? Seeing that TLF's protecting its no-longer-abandonware now, I managed to track down my actual Ascendancy disc instead, but I can't get it to work. I hard-copied all the files on the disc to a folder, ran the Install BAT through Dosbox and was told it installed successfully, but telling it ascend wasn't recognized. Nor was drag-and-dropping the Ascend.exe file onto Dosbox to auto-mount it, the way I think it used to. Any ideas or help on what to do? |
