Calvaire Thanks for the help guys - I'll take a look at these asap and see what I can't find. I'll be sure to let you know. If all else fails, a new computer is on its way.

Eagle of Fire I am not sure it can really help you but you can try to read this guide. Look at the quote at the end of the second post.

That's about the best help I can give you. Sorry if it is not sufficient.

Omuletzu I am not familiar with the drivers our bootdisk offers, but you should go to driversguide.com, make an account, and search for the drivers for your exact soundcard; and don't forget they have to be DOS drivers.
Happy hunting

Don't forget to post back if you don't succed k:

Calvaire I'm working on the ever amusing challenge of trying to get sound to work properly (if at all) in my games. I'm currently operating in Windows 98 with a Creative SoundBlaster PCI128 for sound, and am using the Abandonia bootdisk as well as the sound drivers from this site. I am, of course, trying to the run games from the DOS prompt.

When the disk gets around to trying to run sbeinit.com (I believe), I get the error message 'PCI device detect failure - SB16 not loaded'. I have searched for and found another topic like this in the forums, but a solution was never found/given. I'm admittedly pretty much in the dark when it comes to what to do with all of those sound driver files from here, so the problem may lie in my bumbling about with those. I believe I copied them to the right location ... Any idea of how I might fix this problem?

Wonderful site!
