Morrin | Yeah, indeed. I did reboot after putting it to system32 but it didn't work.. Go and figure. So if anyone is having the same problem, you might want to also try windows\twain_32

Understandable. A lot of rebooting was required in the old days. Your Windows system probably didn't recognize that the .dll was added to the directory until it rebooted and checked the available .dll... With old games, when in doubt then reboot. |

It's enough to have whatever DLL on any single folder included in the %PATH% environment variable, or in the folder you're running the program from. Quote:
Check the folder you're running the game from, if you're using a shortcut. |

The Fifth Horseman | Sounds like you should check the game's config files for any traces of an installation path and modigy it to point to the current location.

I have it on every folder you mention, but no success. Every executable says the same error (I have finnish windows but I try to translate it to you): c:\civnet\civnet.exe tried to use the path, but it's not valid Or something like that... |

CivNet on XP? Hi, I just played CivNet with my brother with his computer (also winXP), and I thought I'd install it on my comp too after so long break. I remember there was a trick that you have to install wing32.dll or such to your windows/system folder in order to run it, but doesn't seem to work. Any ideas? And please, Im not here to ask how to buy civ 2,3 or 3 or how to play the game in DOS, so save that. |
