I've got additional HDD so I can install Win98 with no problem inside my computer. ?That is easy - only takes a little too much time. I've never been playing with virtual stuff, so this one could be a little difficult ... where to get the program from, where to get Win 98 that matches the virtual system? I hope I'll get some more time soon so I'll be able to do this Win 98 stuff and play that old RPG |

Scatty | Silver is a well-known pain in the behind to get to run on Windows XP, and is besides kind of quite buggy, so your best bet is Windows 98. If you want to save your CPU usage, you're probably better off installing Windows 98 on a different hard-drive or a different partition of the same hard-drive, but that might be, depending on your knowledge level, a little more complicated than running it in Virtual PC.

The Fifth Horseman | Set up MS VPC 2007 with Windows 98 on it and see if the game runs under that. If yes - the problem is with WinXP. If no - it's with the game.

bobson | that is the problem - there is only about 3 seconds of black screen ... without a compability mode - it is about one sec.

The Fifth Horseman | Is there anything more specific that occurs when you try tu run the game? Error messages, BSOD's, "file not found" or anything else out of the norm?

anyone know what to do? As far as I know it's Windows game, so DOSBox won't help, compability modes neither (I've checked all the combinations). Could I have a corrupted archive or this game will never work on XP ?? |
