Evil Bunny I found the narrator's overacting and accentuation of the wrong parts of the sentences grating, too.
(The text would say "It IS the best" and she'd say it like "It is the BEST".)

Yeah, I must be one of them.

I'm watching The Beast Within longplay now and I don't like the character interpretation there, either - Grace is rude right off the bat and for quite a long time with everyone, even her host, in a foreign country, and Gabriel is all shy and awkward - and he's the guy who had a score of girls after him and shattered a voodoo cult. Actually, everybody's acting way to openly with new people, whether they're incredibly hostile or spilling all the secrets. There are moments when I feel like I'm watching Passions.

The only believable characters are Übergrau and the zoo-keeper.

That said, the story's got me hooked.

Evil Bunny I had a bad version of this, so I could never do... well, anything.

At last I came across a YouTube longplay and finally 'finished' it and it was great.

Tim Curry was disappointing (and I love him!), and I expected something a bit different as far as GK's character is concerned, as well.

Lhug Heh... complaining about voice acting ^^

You just be grateful if you never heard the german voices in whatever part of GK. Boy those are bad.

And personally, I really do like Sins Of The Fathers, because it has depth, it has nice and challenging puzzles, and interestingly very few Sierra-Parts. Meaning "Stuck because you missed a pixel, haha" or "die because you selected wrong dialogue"

The tension build in this game is also great, as is the speed - the only bad thing is, and this is true for all three games, especially in the end you have almost no time to think and mistakes are fatal.

This peaks in Blood, seeing as you have no clues for the final tests and can only guess.

I'm the opposite. I think Beast Within is the best and maybe even the best FMV game, although I'll always have a soft spot for Return to Zork. Sins of the Father is second best, and I think the third game is brought down a lot by the camera and controls among other things, and once again the return of most of the voice actors from the first game.

DarthHelmet86 I love Tim Curry's voice acting in this game...some of the others on the other hand not so much. Each to their own though.

Lulu_Jane Actually, Curry I didn't mind (I'm a big fan) but the one that was really shameful was Mosely I think.

Also, I would love to get the documentation for this game on site, the comic that came with the floppy version was awesome.

TotalAnarchy Yes, like I mentioned in the review, most gamers I think prefer to have bland voices or none at all in their games. Although a lot people are just kinda uncomfortable with some of them, like in Tim Curry's case.
