Eagle of Fire .....

This thread is about 8 years old.

Furthermore, The Settlers 2 run perfectly fine in Windows XP. If you really have problems then use VDMSound and if you still have problems then use compatibility settings.

I played and still play The Settlers 2 on my XP machine all the time without problems. I don't understand why someone would. If they do then they should give out more information so we can understand what is the problem as it likely originate from his machine.

Hey, not sure if this will help, but I recall having those kind of issues way back in the day. Check your frame rate in the Windows display options, try adjusting those, but be careful not to mess them up in a way you can't recover your old settings.

BeefontheBone Check the Settlers 2 game discussion thread (there's a link in the review) - there's a lot of discussion about this in there. You should be able to run it with VDMSound.

Holy Swede I love the game The Settlers 2 however I'm faced with one problem. I can't play it since it won't work on windows XP. I was wondering if someone could help me with this.

Also I have tried using DosBox but this takes up to much processing space therefore making the game lag.

Your input would be generous. Thanks.
