Japo These games are based on D&D 2nd edition rules... Here's a good lengthy description:

There should be a spell to identify magic items. That's one useful low level spell. Mages are worthless at low level and overpowered at high level (as long as they get 48 hours of sleep per day).

Magical items!

I played this game when it first came out back in 1990. It's so awesome to have it again! At the time I was too young and lazy to bother reading much, so I didn't pay much attention to the quest lines. Now that I'm paying more attention I have so many questions...
  • Can I ID magical items? When I pick up potions and smaller magical items I sometimes find that they are only worth about 200 steel. In that case it does not seem worth it to pay 100 steel to have them identified by a merchant. Is it possible to do this ID without paying?
  • Item values? Why is that the same items with the same title can be worth different amounts to the merchants. I've picked up lots of Broad Swords in Throtl. Some are worth 0, some are worth 5. Is there any practical difference in using these swords?
  • Short bow vs Long bow? Composite long bow?
  • Most useful spells in the early levels? My mages and clerics mostly focus on sleep and hold. Seems like a fighter/mage combo does better with a bow and arrow than with magic missile. Thoughts?

I could go on, but those are my biggest questions right now. Thanks!!!

Hated to do this, but I need help

Okay, everyone. I just finished Champions of Krynn earlier this afternoon, and now importing my characters from COK to DKK has proved to me that it is a tricky thing to do. I want to continue playing the Krynn trilogy if only there was an easier way to do this. Thanks in advance.

blastradius ITEMS is a file in the zip, it may not have extracted properly due to the missing file extension, or it may be hidden on your android. If it will not extract, try extracting it on a computer, then sending the file to your phone.

I am attempting to run this using DosBox on my Android phone. It is an HTC One, and I'm using DosBox Turbo.

I seem to have configured everything set up properly according to several online guides I found, and the game does indeed seem to try to start. Once I choose the graphics, sound card and savegame path, it displays an error that says "Couldn't find ITEMS. Please check install".

I have spent the last couple of days trying to find a solution, to no avail. I followed the steps to fix the issue with the save file error, but that didn't work. All of the files seem to be there, yet it keeps giving me this error.

I also set up Death Knights and Dark Queen on my phone the same way, and while Death Knights doesn't work, Dark Queen does! Also, I tested the same games on my desktop, and all three worked, so I can safely assume there's nothing wrong with the game files themselves.

I'd appreciate any input, because I reeeally want to crack into this game on my commute!

alternate file depository...

I tried to login as blastradius14, but I could not.

I've compiled all of my Champions of Krynn files on my server for easy access.

I hope this helps.

First of all: delete ALL your old game folders, something is completely wrong anyway.
Keep your c:\users\your name\oldgames\

Reunzip the original downloaded archive, in that archive there is one folder named COK, you must end with:
c:\users\your name\oldgames\cok\

Be sure to use a good unzipper, that can handle the directory structure in the archive, not the Vista one, that's too basic.
7zip does a nice job:
http://www.7-zip.org/
Something as:

Run dosbox, mount c:\users\your name\oldgames\ as C: in dosbox, do a
cd cok
start

That's it, all works flawless, game save and all, no need to edit the cfg file or whatever.

The game, after creating/adding/saving and a restart:

'Covenant' player loaded:

Folder structure with saved games:

No problems whatsoever, so : start over from scratch friend.

The Fifth Horseman For heaven's sake... DOSBox mounts need not have anything to do with your real drive letters.
On my desktop, I'm mounting F:\Dosgames as my DOSBox C drive, for instance.
