Honkers I'm 15, but geocities was the only free e-mail service I knew of, and I also heard that geocities filters out most spam. Anyways, thanks for the link and all the help, guys. I hope to be able to create an account someday.

I actually tried to convince Dad to let me open a geocities account, but that didn't go over too well.

Anyways, back on topic. I'm not really sure how to figure out what port it's in/on. I'm not even sure what a port is.
:eeeeeh: Why geocities? Google, Hotmail or Yahoo are the easiest. how old are you? 7? :w00t:

Guide for DOS i am sure there is more to be found online.

Ports are kind of gates where your card is plugged in. it's lika a software address of the slot where the card is inputed.

Interrupt number (IRQ) and other adresses (DMA...) are to define more specifically where your card is. once you set them correct your basically tell computer where you souncard is.

windows 98 have this simplified as they do all the setting up for you (automatically detect). so do some games (if you use setup or soundsetup, sndsetup).

edit: for more info on how to find the correct ports and address see windows help (press F1 when in windows).

Let's not get offtopic here guys.

Btw, I myself use Hotmail.
LOL

I actually tried to convince Dad to let me open a geocities account, but that didn't go over too well. Hopefully once I get my website published, I'll be able to convince him, but right now I'm not too keen on trying the same reasons I did last time I asked.

Anyways, back on topic. I'm not really sure how to figure out what port it's in/on. I'm not even sure what a port is.

Sorry, I'd love to create an account, but I don't have my own e-mail address and I'd hate to enter one of my parent's addresses.
just quickly open up a Yahoo account...take you a total of two minutes, and you could be a member of the community as well. [/b][/quote]
or get an invitation and open a Google address (offers you 2.5GB of email space and increasing...)

I edited autoexec.bat like you said, but the install program could only find an internal speaker. :eeeeeh:
it can mean:

1. You don't have your card installed under DOS. Make sure you find the card's drivers for DOS and install them.

2. Your sound card is not supported by the game.

3. DOS doesn't support your soundcard.

EDIT: 4. your sound card is configured on another port. try changing the settings in autoexec.bat

Eagle of Fire After the huge number of post you've made already Honkers, would you mind if I suggest you to create yourself an account? You'd probably be taken more seriously that way anyways.
