Just fiddled around with this game for an evening. I have no idea how long it would take to get through it without the walkthrough!!! Some of the decisions and actions are completely nonsensical. It is pretty awesome though to try the first text game with graphics!!! Works well and I got through it.
I agree, I did beat it with walkthrough 2, curious as to how one of the very first adventures played out, respect to those who did finish it without walkthrough

Akira When I press "Scroll LocK" to see the rest of the text, then the image disappears and it doesn't come back

More Troubleshooting

Ok. I typed 'save game'. It says "Games can only be saved on diskettes formatted by this game" Then it prompts me to place save game diskette in drive a and give a name to the save file. I tried just mounting a regular file to a but the game was too smart for me. Does anybody know of a way to save this game? I'll continue trying various other approaches but I would appreciate any ideas.
Great game by the way, the snakes are all jerks though, except the king.

DoomYoshi Alright, awesome. I didn't think of remapper because I tried it once before to no avail.

Hahahahaha ....
:bleh:

Seriously, use dosbox's keymapper to remap it, then you'll have a working one again in dosbox.
To use the keymapper press CTRL+F1 whilst in dosbox prompt.
The scroll lock key is named SCL, above the block with the cursor keys.
Remap it to F12, or something you don't need ingame.

More info about that dosbox feature in TeH dosbox readme.

DoomYoshi When I said I tried every key, I meant every key except that one since I don't have the key anymore. I jammed a pen in there today but it didn't work. However since I failed to notice the important message I will go hang my head in shame

Tried that?

DoomYoshi Whenever there is more than four lines of text, my game freezes. DOSBox will still run but the game won't. For instance when I type inventory, four items are displayed but I can no longer play. Also the chasm with the cabin on the other side and the snake has more than four lines of text... I think I need to cross the chasm because I've explored every other part of the desert...
I've tried every single key and mouse clicking...any ideas?
