bob dobbs For those who registered for the sound download:
Don't bother installing from disk. Just copy the sound folder into the soundless installation, and move the sound config files up one. Oh and copy over with the patch.

Dude

Dude, check the start of the forum!
Or u could just do what I say here-

Make a folder called (whatever u like to name it) but I'll call this 'A' file
Make another folder (whatever u like to name it) I'll call this 'B'
And u got the lion.rar right?
Extract it to yr desktop!
U should have a file called 'LION' now on yr desktop.
Put the extracted file 'LION' in one of yr named files.or for me,I'll put it in 'B'.
Next, put the 'B' file that has 'LION' file in it into 'A' file.
And now,open any file u like,go to drive C
(U still following me,right? )
And put 'A' file in it.
Now,close all folders...oh wait,go to 'LION' file, the one inside of 'A' and 'B' file...go to something called 'LION.CFG' if u can't see the extension,go to yr control panel and and press no hidding extension on the settings...
Change the 'LION.CFG' to 'LION.txt'.
Open 'LION.txt' with notepad....(notepad is avaliable in every computers no worries!)
And check if 'CDPATH=C:\LION' is there.if not, change it to exactly what I said....
Ok,now yr done,click the x button,and click 'save changes'.
Change the 'LION.txt' back to 'LION.CFG'.
Close that folder
Yr almost done~
Now open dosbox and type this....(note, '' is used to say what file I'm using and what file u named it ok?
Mount c c:\'A'
C:
Cd Lion
Lion

Enjoy!
I'f this doesn't work, try asking for help cause I dunno.
Infomation gathered is thanks to the people who posted stuff here from pgs 1 to something
(I read them all lol!was rly funny )
Err,this is for anyone with the bug that is 'hr_hires' bug or for anyone that don't know how to use dosbox for lion.
Have fun! ^^

Help

I have dosbox and lion but I dont know how to work dosbox (its been a long time since I used it) How do I set it up and get lion to work?

ichitz i LOVED this game when I was younger. Been searching high and low for this and can't believe I actually found it again!

Only problem is no sound.
And also it seems to run fairly slow on Dosbox. I'm getting lots of lags and I'm not sure why. Any good fixes?

LION...where to find...

- white giraffe
- buffalo for Dial B
- film crew
- poachers camp

I go where it tells me and I run out of time before I see anything....

Try replacing the line in lions.cfg with this:
CDPATH=.
(Yes, that's a period after the equality sign)

If that doesn't work, please show us a screenshot of the contents of your C:\TMP\LION directory.
I found this to work fine! All I had to do was put the period, then drag the .exe ontop of DOSBox. Thank you all!

Nope, wrong mount.

Unzip the whole "lion" dir in \oldgames\ so you get \oldgames\lion\

In dosbox mount \oldgames\ as virtual C:
if done correctly

c:
cd lion
lion

will work.

What the specific \oldgames\ dir is depends of your OS.
Read the tutorials.
Notice: you should never mount a games dir directly as C: in dosbox, but always use \oldgames\ (or similar) with the game directory (folder) as subdirectory of \oldgames\
Some games need that specific mount to be able to find their files.
Even if some (in fact most) dosgames will work with game folder mounted directly as C: many won't be able to run/find needed files..... so sooner or later you run into this kind of problems.
Again: read the tutorials, they are there for a reason.

Help

Okay so... I tried opening Lions in the DOSbox but... Here's the thing I've been doing
mount c c:\lion
c:
cd lion
lion

But at "cd lion" it says "Unable to change to: lion"
Help? Also, when I skip that part and just do
Mount c c:\lion
c:
lion

It comes up with this "hr_hires.c #1.-1"
Heeelp?

I've been playing WOLF, and it's amazing(still trying to mate o-o no luck) but I really want to play LION... So, I'd appreciate help c:
