Well, thank you everyone. r.u.s.s, I thank you for the pillow idea. I've managed to fix the soundcard drivers. Another reinstall simply did it. Now "setupsa.exe", the soundcard original mixer software is working. No, my soundcard doesn't have volume knobs. Actually, my speaker isn't a "cheapass" speaker, it's a mono speaker made for an old surround sound system. And, well, I have a Headfone with volume control, but it doesn't fit two heads same time, so doesn't work for Hot Seat multiplayer. I made some good job after some googleing, got a nice config.sys with a boot menu. Autoexec.bat knows what OS I choose and load correct instructions for windows/dos. But now... I'll open another thread. About EMS memory games. |

however most games have volume control in them. but i do remember having problems with some games that didn't have it. they were loud indeed. i am not sure how to change this setting in dos. there were some command for my particular card but they didn't seem to quite work. well speakers are cheap. you can get descent ones for 10 eur. or you can buy headphones even cheaper (made in china). the new ones usually all have the volume contorl on them. so if it bothers you that much it's not so expencive to upgrade. |
