Mighty Midget Did you try to tun it in pure DOS or, better still, DOSBox?

Well, i hope that sooner or later they will release some remastered version for PC or a compilation for PSP so we simple mortals can finally enjoy that one

You can already play it by using Mame and getting the ROM. (Not gonna post the ROM address here as I'm not sure of legalities)

Here's some screenies from the original.

Considering the time it has been published, EGA graphics sound unbelievable but not even the graphics are satisfying. There are too few sprites of the enemies, preventing any sort of a felling that the game should give you, except perhaps some disappointment. Most of the times the creatures are animated using only one or two sprites. The situation gets somewhat better with the bosses enemies at the end of the level, which is expected. The background looks fine, but there are still lots of simplified solutions. Just like EGA itself should be enough.[/b]
Déjà vu...

Aren't most of the "modern" games like that too? Just replace "EGA" by "Awesome 3D"... And there you go!

Northowl LOL you totally slaughtered this game! I remember rounding this game a lot on arcade several years ago, and lately on my friend's game collection. The game is simply an avesome time-waister The review was a bit long, but I think I still will make the norwegian translation, out of pure nostalgy - and the wacky slaughtering :P

Sigfrodi The PC version of Ghosts 'n' Goblins was so lame... PCs were no arcade games machines at the time but what a poor port anyway... I loved the arcade game and spent soooo much money in it... I was crazed when I saw it was released for the NES, and bought it immediately. GnG is a legendary game... but not on PC :P

One remark about the last part of the article, Super Ghouls 'n' Ghosts was not released only on Super NES. It was also ported to Playstation (part of one of the "Capcom Generation" compilations, number 4 maybe) and later on GBA, though I'm not sure it is exactly the same on the Nintendo handheld console...
