Smiling Spectre Well, actually, most items here _have_ explanation. Frequent it is in .BBS-file, sometimes in files.lst or something, and sometimes integrated right into interface. In 90s style, unfortunately, so it will be something like "Cool graphic editor" or "mod to wav converter". Look on this, for example (it's File utils from ASP disc, obviously): http://cd.textfiles.com/aspcd9502/FI...E/UTILFILE.BBS. This is standard description for such things.

But no, I doubt that something better exist. You are free to seek, of course.

roarke Thank you, but no software explanations are given. I'm looking besides wikipedia. Using them in dosbox turbo will be good.

Any free ms-dos programs and/or links will be good.
Ouch.

Are you aware that DOS-Games alone are 20 000 and counting in single project that I am aware of?

I believe, no one tried to do anything similar with MS-DOS tools. They are virtually countless. (I, personally, wrote about dozen when it was needed. It's too easy.

If you are in mood to dig thru endless heaps of software - try famous cd.textfiles.com. There are LOT of free soft. For several platforms, but MS-DOS prevails.
