I'm going to jump on the bandwagon, so hang on I'm running XP, and yes, it sucks. All Windows sucks so we can clear that up right away. How would you fix this particular problem: The HOTU CD-Rip version of Dungeonkeeper Gold: UnRARed it to C:/Program Files/Bullfrog/Keeper. Checked keeper.cfg. It is set to the correct directory already, but I retyped it and saved it to be absolutely certain. If you run keeper95, it has no problem. The game plays perfectly. It does not ask for a CD. There is no sound other than the intro, but I already expected that since it's a rip. Now here's the trick part: If you try to run the deeper dungeons part (deeper95) it will play the intro, go to main menu and if you try to start a new game it immediately goes to a new screen (NOT the red CD with the question mark) with the words "Please inser the Deeper Dungeons CD Rom" Now, I've tried FAKECD, but it does not help. FakeCD runs ONLY under DOS mode. Despite popular belief, DK Gold is _not_ a dos proggie. It requires running in Windows. Also, I've tried saving the whole thing as an .iso and mounting it with Daemon tools. No luck that way either. I've tried burning the whole thing to an actual CD. Still no luck. I've tried it under C:/keeper (yes, I remembered to edit the keeper.cfg to reflect this) and nothing. I'm stuck. At wits end. Losing it. Halp! Thanks (By the way, yes, I've googled it to death. Googlesearch has revealed 250million+ websites in Russian, French and German, translated to read "we like to give you links that don't mean anything so you will come to our site in hopes you will click on our porn sponsors links) Thanks in advance: The Angel Zezaekrael |

The version of Dungeon Keeper from HOTU doesn't have any sound except the one in the intro. That's why it's only 75 MB large compressed. Usual size would be around 220 MB in an archive. But it's actually too big for the site to upload it here... I have sound for Dungeon Keeper from my version of the game on CD(a directory with all needed sound things) in German only. I could send it to you if you want. Just contact me over MSN and we'll see. It's around 40 MB large. |

I don't have any sound either. Dungeon Keeper Gold HotU version + Windows XP + SB Live. Sound doesn't work in both normal and Direct 3D version |

hmm, my one runs fine under Xp, too. But is it normal that the program runs a bit fast and there are no sound effects? There is some music during the intro. But thatīs all... |

That download works absolutely fine on my Win XP so I'm afraid I can't help you too much. I know you need to make sure the installation path in keeper.cfg is correct otherwise the game can't find all of the files. Could it be a graphics card problem? As far as I know this archive only contains the 3D version that not every card will support, though most modern cards should. |

Although my version of Dungeon Keeper Gold runs well in Windows XP (keeper95.exe), except from some weird extremely heavy slowdowns from time to time, which mostly disappear in the later levels of the game.... |
