-Scorn- Yes, I tried that, too, of of course.

But it doesn't help.
Same effect, so matter if I start directly from Windows or use VDMSound

In that case, you need to check the "run this game in 256 colors" box in the compatibility settings. You will find the compatibility settings when you right-click on a program icon and select "properties". It should be the very last option in the menu.

-Scorn- In the case of Ascendancy for example it looks by the way the same if I run it from Windows directly.
And the mouse behaves in a very strange way.

Playing around with compatibility and other options doesn't work either.

Sry that is not possible. I have WinXp: Home and can only change between 16k and 32k.

VDM Sound enables really better gameplay by the way. Syndicate is really messy with DosBox but runs nearly perfectly with VDMSound.

Guest Yes, but after 25,000 rates it becomes slower again.

However, VDM-Sound solves game speed, but graphics are somewhat .. strange. Can anybody help here, plz?

Enter dosbox.conf
and set
core=dynamic.
That should help.

If not,
increase frameskip.

Yes, thanx, taht did something. But Settlers2 still won't work fine. It runs smoothly in the beginning, but gets worse soon. I'm running at ca. 25,000 cycles now and increasing frame skip won't help.
Scrolling is a poor experience, too.
