Lordtwann | Figured out the save game thing. I was able to go through my old computer game stuff and found the box for this but the game disc was missing It could be anywhere so I just ordered another copy from a seller on Amazon. I'm pretty certain the CD version of the game came with a text version of the manual you could print out. It'll probably take a while till I get it but once I do I'll add the manual to the game files.

Lordtwann | So after these games have been sitting in my closet for years I thought I'd play them again. LOVED the first one, never had a chance to start the second. I don't have access to my physical copies at the moment but I'm pretty sure my CD copy of vol.2 had a pdf of the manual with all the paragraphs. When I get back to it I can upload it.

The Fifth Horseman | This error message means there's no such file there. Type in dir *.exe and see what it returns.

Can anyone help with getting this game to play? I am using DOSbox and have everything mounted, changed the directory to the folder that I have the game in, but when I type in "setup.exe" it says it is illegal. I'm not sure how to get it to work. I had no trouble getting Part 1 to work. |

DarthHelmet86 | I miss it somethimes, I used to read the manuals of games when going to sleep. Bit hartd with todays four page manuals that tell you to the basic controls but none of the story. Maybe thats just me though.

hunvagy | The old Gold Box games had the same system.. all journal entries, maps etc were in the manual, not in the game.. good old days

Those paragraphs are the "copy protection" of the game. Instead of putting all the text in the game, they refer you to the numbered paragraphs in the manual (it has a section dedicated to that). This way, they achieve both copy protection, and they save on memory and disc space requirements. Unfortunately, the manual isn't in the extras, which is a great oversight. But a look around the net could give some amazing results! |
