dr_st I always have

SET DIRCMD= /P/OGEN

In my Autoexec. That way, DIR is displayed by default with page breaks and files organized in order of extensions then filenames.

you can combine them as well
dir/w/p
I didn't know this. But it seems very useful.

robotangel Yes, I tried that yesterday. /w is good, but if you have many files you should use both ("dir /w /p")

Dir/w* displays the listing in wide format , with as many as five filenames or directory names on each line
Dir/p displays one screen of the listing at a time .To see the next screen press any key
Yes, it's better to use dir/w because it lists all directory and files at the same time.

P.S. Virgil, i don't know how but you answered right to "name that game".

robotangel If there are a lot of files it's better to try "dir /p". But I don't know what "dir /w" does. I'll try it...

BeefontheBone You've already mounted that directory as the drive. Type "DIR /w" to see what's there, then change to one of the game's directories.
