black0panther You got to go into the menu and request landing com or landing clearence. I havent planed this game in ages but I do remember. Ounce you do this it will start you on the rentry phase. Dont close door or set dap to manual unless instructed. ounce in orbit with payload doors open and ku band antenna deployed in tests flights go to request landing com. it will set you up for reentry and landing.

The problem I have is in the deorbit stage. The launch and orbit phase went according to the book. I then selected mission coms and went about stowing Ku, radiators, and payload doors. The first unusal thing was that the KU band antenna jambed and I was requested to jettsion it, which I did. After the radiators and payload doors were stowed, I was requested to switch the DAP to manual, which I did. This is were I ran into problems. I was not instructed to do anything else, but after awhile I start getting promts from mission control to proceed. I'm not sure what I am supposed to do though. I am running it in full auto mode.

Am I missing something? The manual has very detailed launch sequence instructions. However the landing instructions are not as well detailed. I'm not sure if I am supposed to translate (rotate) the shuttle to position for the deorbit burn and it is waitng for me to do that??? Or is it waiting for me to do something else?????

I than tried starting in orbit. But I get a problem deploying the KU band antenna. The message from mission control when I click on the switch is that the switch is locked. And I can not proceed further in the mission because it is waiting for the KU antenna to be deployed.

I remember somehow getting the shuttle to deorbit when I first bought it, but I don't remember how I did it. I do remember running into these same problems back then.

Can anyone that has played this game have any hints/suggestions!

I have heard that this game has bugs in it, but I don't know if what I am running into is a bug or if I am doing something wrong.

Gargantou I wish I could figure out the manual landing part, that's my biggest gripe with the game, they say they didn't model the autolanding system of the Shuttle for the reason that it's supposed to be a 'game', it's near *dirty word* impossible to proper land it manually(Including entering orbit etc and atmosphere), the manual is woefully adequate in explaining this operation!

Anyone got any bloody tips?
I'm stuck on the first MMU test flight when trying to re-enter atmosphere :<

Guest_Dave_* I too Have the original and if you have the REAL space shuttle operators manual bought from nasa check the giftshop.all the program codes if entered work in the game displays change ect.their are a few codes in the real book procdures that is not in the game procdures but still work.
Shows the level of detail.
I quit playing it after the 3 bugs I found KU anteanna bug(cannot deploy if start game in orbit or (2)close if started from launch pad) cannot proceed pass that point (3) LANDING breaks up upon touch down if not perfect and sometimes if it is. their was never a fix so it died in the bin.

Am I the only one who cannot use the log to save the missions to come back to later? Without being able to save to the log, you can't pick up where you left off later! What am I doing wrong? This isn't much fun if you have to start all over again each time you play it.

Type shuttle.exe /ALL

You get all the missions. (Allthough you are still not going to be able to save a currently game, its better than nothing).

Guest_frustrated_* I can't get this game to run. I am running Windows ME which has MSDOS prompt but whenever I try to run the game I get the message "internal error: 0f80". With all the talk about dosbox i thought maybe there's a difference between dosbox and msdos prompt and that it would solve the problem, but the same exact thing happens with dosbox. What does internal error 0f80 mean?

I still have the box, and it comes with 2 manuals and a big poster thingy of all the controls. I could scan these in, but how could I get them onto the site?
That would be great mate! Looking forward to it! I once had the original too but unfortunately lost it... The fold out poster with the consoles was handy...
