Eagle of Fire Probably, but it will difinitly take a long time. And in the beginning, we will be able to think that the users did read the first few pages first.

Lonely Vazdru Do you think this thread will begin a new UFO rage and will eventually become bigger than the original UFO thread ?

PrejudiceSucks Yeah, on the other hand all of the questions in the X-COM thread have been answered about 90 times by now.

Why don't we keep the thread but have a STICKIED little FAQ with all of the technical stuff, but keep the 'lets trowel through this lark' option in there.

A. J. Raffles There are jokes in the joke thread that are repeated at least three times as well, by the way, so it isn't exactly a brilliant example for a functioning long thread either.

a1s unlike the joke thread which (at least in theory) provides equal amusement on each page, X-Com thread addresses specific problems... times and times over!
and by the way, just as a fun fact, not that the joke thread only has 65 pages, while the C-Com thread has 123 (that's one hundred twenty three) pages and is thus the longest thread on abandonia (and allmost 2 times longer that the first runner up!)

Indignus IV So? what about the jokes topic? isnt it 194 pages or something?

If I want a good laugh I just go to page 79 or something and read on.....

a1s well if such *carzy* volounteer would be found, you could close it and make a X-Com FAQ thread somwhere (with new questions deleted as soon (or better yet in 24 hours, but that would be a bit more work) as they are answered (in the FAQ)).

moogle Yup.....

A. J. Raffles That might reduce the length of the thread, but even if it was "only" 50-60 pages long, most people probably still wouldn't bother to read through it and keep asking the same questions over and over again...

The Fifth Horseman Get a volunteer mad enough to take pains cleaning it up from unneccesary posts / repeated questions.
