The Fifth Horseman It's definitely not caused by your saves, or the version of the game you've got. Will check D-Fend, that's one of three likely culprits (second being DOSBox, third being your machine).

I'd say you're overspecced. It ran on 100 mHz 486 (and possibly slower systems too), with 16 MB RAM. Take out 128 MB of your RAM and try again.

Oh, right, oops!

I've included the save file, but it happens in *every* level, new games or old.

It's the default install from the D-Fend Reloaded DemoPackage3, launched by D-Fend Reloaded 1.0.1
( http://dfendreloaded.sourceforge.net/Download.html )
-> specifically, the included version is the creative commons release, which is available by itself here:
http://www.classicdosgames.com/game/...ment_2192.html

I hash-checked it and all the game files are the same (except the saves of course), although the classicdosgames one lacks the [included] TD.CFG [my settings are soundblaster music and SFX, keyboard control].

All three td2192 games share the [included] D-Fend .prof profile (and the other two work flawlessly).

Thanks!

stuck ships too

I also discovered this (in one of the D-Fend packs) loved it, and nearly finished the day I started . . . until pathing failure messed up Ep3.

I have ships "vibrating" in place like a few others have reported, but in every mission of ep3. thus I can't pass level 5, which requires the truck you're escorting to actually move. moving past enemies sometimes frees them up for a bit, but never more than once, so I can't get them back to the truck, and I don't think they evade anyway . . .

Several people have reported DOSBox fixing the issue - what did you do? I tried cranking the speed way down as well as increasing it, to no avail; the first two work, and this is the D-Fend pre-configured setup . . .

any thoughts? :-/
I really don't want to hack the saves to skip every escort mission if I can avoid it, and in any case, the story's a lot less interesting when the levels are boring

Thanks!

finally

at last I found this game, I loved velasquez at the 1st time I see her, too bad she have to be a prototype cyborg,
actually I was waiting a sequel for this game since 1995 but safari never release any, well TD isn't a big hit either so I'll just have to play it over and over just to met velasquez

The Fifth Horseman That Vulture III mission was a headache.

Fenrir07 Thanks for posting this up. I played the Shareware version back when I was in like 5th or 6th grade and really took a liking to the story. Was never able to play the other 2 episodes till I found them here recently while looking for Wing Commander. That escort mission in episode 3 when you fight in the Vulture III skid gave me some trouble. Same with the mission where you have to keep the base from being destroyed by the V3s.
I do wish they would have given the player a choice in what skid to use some of the missions. The last mission and ending felt rather weak as to what I was expecting. The story was still outstanding though.

Anyone have themusic for download?

The player is nice and all, but I'd like the original MID files - are they still available?
