dosraider You'll need an Amiga emulator.
Try googling "adf+amiga" or "lemon amiga" ...... You'll find some good emulators than can load-play those ADF files.
BTW: ADF's are amiga's disk format files.

Guest Wierd

I found the game elsewhere but as .adf file. Got me an amiga disc file converter and now I can see all the filenames in the discs. Now why on earth can't I run it?

Tried dosbox, can't run it.
Tried to open the files from a window, won't open them.

Please help me

One small remark.
Since when is there an obligation to sell those games or even to make them available?
Can you refer to one law that says so?

*Edit
And HotU has also game tips for Duck tales.

They prevented me using it (legally) as i can not purchase it anymore (or anyone else not already having it). That's the point.

Truly i am for an organization protecting the authors' rights as long as they (Or some descendant berserk copyright holders... I do not think there are too much authors on the Earth who would like to crush their own good artworks) do not abuse through it. I would even be for a site which, like I-tunes, would offer abandonned software for some fee what would go to the authors, who really deserve it (if they did such a good job that their games for example are even played today on emulators).

(By the way does ESA protect small companies, or even single home - programmers? I guess not... Well, if not, they might be denounced for self - umpiring. They have sort of juridical power what they selectively use to only protect their members' products, so their existence this way certainly stinks somehow)

Does not matter, this is off debate. Thanks for the kind response. I might even go looking for some stupid paragraphs triing to figure out these, although jurisprudence is certainly far far away from me... Maybe i will even try to contact the ESA itself about this (I mean about the old games, that how could they provide a way to get them legally. If they say "no way", then at least i will have some sort of proof that they really abuse in this term).

(By the way report me to ESA. I am going to get some "protected" games illegally, but that's not my damned fault.)

Is there some petition, or sort of, against ESA?[/b]
None I know of.

It is just a pity that dozens of old games and such, especially from Disney can neither be downloaded (here, of course who really wants to get a certain game, sure finds a way to get it - illegally) or bought. Yes, it is true that authors has to be protected in some way. But it is simply nonsense when someone can not even legally purchase a copy of a certain game (or video, or whatever) anymore. I thought about it a lot so far. [/b]
Sure it's nonsense - what else d oyou expect from law?

Quote:
Does not this even violate some laws? I mean that the fact that they pratically force people to not "use" a particular software, or force them to break the laws if they want to use it.[/b]
They don't prevent people from using the software. They prevent them from illegally obtaining it.

Quote:
If some software is available for purchasing legally, then it is not of question that the authors can, or have the rights to protect it. But if they do not wish to sell it anymore, has they got the rights to forcibly "eliminate" the software?[/b]
They do.

(For other types of art, like paintings, and so, even certain protective laws exists. For example not allowing the owner to take it away from the country. Does not ESA violates some about the "preservation" of these software products by it's work?)[/b]
First time I heard of anything like that, but no - I don't think ESA violate any such laws.

Quote:
Anyways, is there any site, or organization triing to break ESA somehow, or not? I just would like to know...[/b]
Simply put... ESA have the law on their side. That, and their members' money.
If someone could give the ESA members valid reasons why would it be in their interest to disband the organization, that purpose might be achieved.
However, so far the member companies have a number of good reasons to keep it going.
