Me and Ism have decided to fight a meeting engagement on WinSPMBT with PBEM.

He will play as Australia and me as Greece. (yes he will kick my...behind).
The setting is a meeting engagement where both of our armies are in the offensive to capture points. The time is 2006. It is going to be a very interesting battle I think.

While we could upload screenshots as we go, but it would make keeping movements and set ups secret very difficult to say the least. I am open to suggestions though.

Edit: It will be Australia vs Greece, not UK.

the battle is on, on the first turn my forward looking eh, scouts, have located an ammo truck of the opponent. Ammo truck destroyed quickly. One less ammo carrier for the other army :sneaky:

I won't give more details now (to avoid helping the enemy) but there will be a full detailed statement at the end of the battle.

The Battle takes place in the Australian Outback in the present time and its a 5000 point battle. I have rushed my units in to try and stop his rapidly advancing force which seems to be consisting of mostly armor. I wonder who shall win this battle I have obviosly lost an ammo truck :help: , and his tanks are coming in fast. hopefully it shall be greek bodies that litter the outback and not are own.

Well, no, but, yeah.

It feels very good playing another PBEM game. The last one for me was Panzer General about oh 6 years ago I think. Then again, I do have bad memory.

Play By EMail. An old old way of playing strategy games. Before email, you would send the actualy floppy disk with the save game files. Before computers, you would send a letter with your moves (for example Chess).
It is used for (mainly) turn based games and what you do is play your turn, then save the game and send the file(s) to the next human player in line, who usualy is a bit far away from you (in this case I am in the UK and the opponent is in Australia). When he receives the file, he loads it through the game and it is his turn, he can see what happened when I played (only the moves/attacks that his units were able to detect), then he plays his turn, save the game and send the file(s) back to me.
We play the first couple of turns by messenger, and it helps when both have the time to do so, but a large part of it will be through email, the "traditional" way.

Though I have advanced, I am losing badly. The chances of me winning are very very low right now. I have made two major errors purschasing units, one because I didn't know the composition of the enemy army, the other because I didn't know a small detail of a unit i bought in large numbers. Live and learn.

I spotted him coming in right from the start I moved my people into the right positions and BAM! down go his tanks the Missile jeeps where taken out by my Squads and his men following in where gunned down by my rapid reaction force and heavy Mortor bombardment. Right now Im mopping up the remaining units that are hiding and fleeing the field.

If you like both PBEM and the old Ufo: Ennemy Unknown game, then I welcome you to try out Laser Squad Nemesis (http://www.lasersquadnemesis.com/index.htm).

I been playing that game since 2004 (but took a short break in between two sessions) and it's really a great turn based strategy game. :)

You know, I don't usualy do this, but since you posted here like this you don't leave me any choice.

Yes, you did manage to place and then direct your units to counteract my units, unit to unit. Indeed very clever tactician you are. Or perhaps not?

After the first round, when you sent me the files, I loaded them and got the warning message that you had definetely reloaded the game and played your turn again. (that is after the turn of my deployment). You did not inform me of this, instead after I asked you about it, you told me that the game crashed and you had to reload the turn. Leaving aside that I have never heard of this game crashing, I believed you.

Of course that you knew exactly where my units were coming from and what, it perhaps should warn me as to that you might not play fair.

After several turns, and while I was losing the battle, the game informed me for a second FAIL. TWO fails and one reloading, without in any of them you informing me in advance, stinks.

I asked you about the 2 fails and the only thing you replied is that the only way to cheat in the game is to hack the files, which is total BS. I am certain that perhaps you haven't cheated by cracking the files directly, but you did (at least 2 or 3 times, perhaps more) re load your turns to either scout, or to get better results .
You also replied to this by attaching the text from our previous conversation when I asked you why I get more warnings. Reloading the game on the first 2 turns does not make the game to warn me anew after 12 turns....

I have no problem losing this or any game, but to try to cheat your way is very low.
