One of the first non-shareware games I ever played. I still remember I had a monochrome screen. Even now I can still play it for hours and hours. It's original, addicting, and the graphics are really beautifull.

Try running it through VDMS, that usually does it for old DOS games. (After installing VDMS you can right-click in Explorer and choose the "Run with VDMS" option.)

Pushover rocks! Just curious, was the quasi-sequel One Step Beyond ever released for PC (I have both games on my Amiga, Pushover is better, but OSB is fun as well)?

What is the key stroke sequence to drop the domino from a higher level without falling?

I want ask you, how can I take a snapshot of this genial game. Windows XP. I tried first PRINTSCREEN, than xnview.com. But it doesn't function. Any idea. Thanks
mmm... try using DosBOX. Ctrl-F5 gives you a capture in .PNG-format. From XP, usaually it's alt + print screen, but this might only work in windows native programs. You could use n external progam (IrfanView for example) to take the shots!
More about screenshots in the screenshots thread! (http://www.abandonia.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=1963) in which I just took 15 screens or so from the nice little game pushover! (using DOSBox)!
edit: I did this before reading your post, btw.

I'm fairly sure there is no such move. You certainly don't need to do it until level 98 (which I am currently stuck on), so I reckon it's unlikely that you need to do it even if there is some sort of glitch that allows you to.

How can I get this to play? It won't install or play on my XP machine - the black DOS screen comes up for a second, then disappears. I have it on CD and couldn't install it, and this download won't install either. I want to play...

I' belive it will run only under DOSBox (http://www.abandonia.com/main.php?nav=programs) or in a "pure DOS" system.
there is also a tutorial (which seems to be offline right now  ) and some easy instructions here (http://www.abandonia.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=5684)
i don' t think you need to install it, just try to run the exe file to start it.
i hope this helps you guys :ok:

ooo I LIKE this game, really makes you think and a lot of fun. Interesting to see thats it was developed to advertise QUAVER crisps as well, you can see all the references at the start. I remember ACTION BIKER for the spectrum was a game promoting the character from the SKIPS crisps adverts, hmmm, thats 2 games tied in with crisps, any more?

Sheesh.
Without knowing what you have exactly done and what specifically is the problem, we cannot help you.
So start by answering some basic questions first:
- What OS are you trying to run the game on?
- What is your hardware config?
- Did you use VDMSound or DosBox?
- Describe, step by step, what have you attempted thus far.

Hi! Please don't post complete email-adresses in the forum, you'll get loads of spam otherwise (they are detected and read by bots...)
2. Hit Alt+Enter for fullscreen. :ok:
Hope I could help you out!

Just change fullscreen=false to fullscreen=true in DosBox.conf.

I have created a complete solution for Pushover, featuring general hints as well as a screenshot or even a video for each level. The texts are currently only available in German, but in case anyone is interested anyway, here the link:

There are also maths involved in the number of packs of crips you gathered. You can just take a calculator to get all the packs :P

I have totally forgotten to write something here, downloaded and played through it before registering at the forum.
Great game to play just half an hour, casually.
Like lemmings a really easy access into game but later on some tough levels.
Played this many years ago and "lost" it after getting new PCs. So thanks for providing this game.
