I decided I wanted to start playing Star Craft w/ my friends again, so I started looking for my CD. I found it, no problem. Only issue is, I can't find the case...the case that has the CD-Key on it.
I tried ripping a couple off line, but they are all restricted from Battle Net. Is there a way for me to search through my CD to find it, or something like that? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks!
Edit: Also, is there a way for me to change my CD key w/o having to uninstall it each time?

I don't think you can change the key...
if you want another one, just use google - there's plenty of these around

Yeah but you can't play with pirated CD keys, well if you want to play with your friends, try using hamachi, it simulates LAN, and there's no cd key authorization for LAN games (hell you can play with spawn even)...

The only way to regain your cd key (and it's not a sure one either) is to contact blizzard and request a new one. but you will have to prove where you bought the game, when you bought it, receipts and much more. Now you know why you should always leave your disc in the cover ;) Sorry mate but you shouldn't have any problems via lan networking with your friends. but the pirated keys will not let you hook up on Battle Net

Could you buy a cheap copy from eBay, and use the cd-key from there?
The ones on eBay start from ?1 - http://video-games.search.ebay.co.uk/Star-...ZR8QQsacatZ1249 (http://video-games.search.ebay.co.uk/Star-Craft_PC-Video-Gaming_W0QQfkrZ1QQfromZR8QQsacatZ1249)
:ok:
I think a photo graph of your cd might convince blizzard support to send you a new one.

It's worth a try. I'd help you out buddy but I enjoy Starcraft on occassions and would hate to lose my cd key :)

I'm serious try hamachi, since it simulates LAN, and you don't need CD key for LAN, I'm sure it's not a problem for you or one of your friends to host it...

I'd gladly give you mine... if I could find the damn key!!
So they come with it stuck on the cd case (like Warcraft)? because then I seem to have lost it too. :wall:
You can find cracks that work on B-net, it may take a bit of time but they are around

I always keep the CD's in case and never lose track of the case's location (two possible: either next to my PC or in the drawer)

I've started to put a label on my disc with the cd key on it with permanent marker... at least I can find it then

I used to keep a list of the CD keys on one cd, but I don't do that much mroe cause I tend not to loose the CD cases as much.
+most of the stuff I do nbow is online so once you enter it you can get it back.
i fond the way -> the wrote cd-keys on the cd :)
copy them in multiples place.
(but starcraft's one is black, so writing wouldn't be seen)
I also emailed myself my cd-keys ;)
I tought i had done the same as you did, but half-life's cd-key is onto the manuel.. Since I had bought the game for the cd-key, that would have been really stupid !!
Try emailling bllizar with all the prof you can find. Else, get the game again, and make sure not to lose the key again ;)

Does your friend has key?
Blizzard is not that bad with remailing keys. (At least that's what I've heard)
Can't you use LAN settings to play directly?
I don't even know where my game is, and of course, I have CDs separated from my CD cases, as those used way too much room. Not so smart idea....

There is an option for "spawning" Starcraft cd's. So, if you want to play with your friends, borrow their CD and install a spawn on your computer.
You should only be able to play with the original CD game, but it will allow you to play with your friends. In theory, you should be able to start a 8 players game with only one CD if the person who start the game is the one who own the original CD.

This is true for LAN, I'm not sure if it's so for TCP/IP over the internet, but even if it's only for LAN, you can use Hamachi as I stated numerous times...
