I got the game and I can offer upload. Is it AW?

The Niles

Yes I believe it is. But how big is the archive you have? I have the game as well but it is two full CD's.

FreeFreddy

I have the game also, it's 65MB uncompressed and 38 MB compressed in .zip. No videos but music and sound are there.

Ioncannon

oh, I meant LOR 2 not 1, I didn't capitalize the other I. Still I would be good too.

The Niles

It could be that I have an expansion pack for it as well. I bought a gold pack years ago that had both 1+2 in there and a thrid CD that would be the expansion then.

I have Lords of the Realm II on one CD, though there was also an expansion for it. It came out in 1997 and LOTR III just came out so I'm not sure if you could call it AW or not yet. The first one sure but I'm not sure about the second. It's a fun game though, and includes support for either DOS or Windows; runs great in XP. :D

My runs only in Windows (all of them aside from 3.x). It's a CD-rip, btw.
That is, talking about Lords of the Realm II all the time. ;)

Those are the ones that I request, lands of lore 1 is an awesome RPG that will have you hooked for years. I know lords of the realm 1 is mentioned as being abandonware but not 2 (just thought I would give it a shot)

I have the CD-ROM version of LotR 2. Maybe I can make an ISO and up it somewhere.

You know, using this board as a pirate's assignation forum probably isn't the best way to show your respect to it and its admins. All it takes is a few people whispering about the "warez" being discussed openly here, and there won't be any here, anymore. But then you're new posters, so you probably don't care, right?

/Optimist:Maybe they don't know if it's abandonware... And that somewhere would be Abandonia...
/Realist: Borodin's thoughts...

No one is talking about warez here. ;) To my knowledge Westwood was bought by EA, and I doubt EA supports Lands Of Lory anymore. HotU has it too, but I don't know how complete it is, their file is 111MB, while the CD image I made is around 350MB. That would be a little too much to upload to Abandonia.

I'd be glad to hear that it's abandonware, because EA is, frankly, a company killer. It's eaten many successful developers, squeezed them for whatever it wanted, then fired the staff and tossed the results away. Its graveyard is littered with the remains of Origin Systems, Westwood Studios, and several other outfits of lesser notoriety. A real shame, that.

EA may be a company killer but hey they have made some pretty good games!

The Madden series and NHL series are some of the better EA titles that they have made, they totally beat anything the competition tries to put out.

SSX is also a good game that they put out. Although I agree recently they've been trying to be sort of bullies in the industry with them trying to get Ubisoft for example.

Lands of Lore should have been up like half a year ago, but unfortunately we are encountering problems with taking pics

Hm? Have you tried ctrl+F5 in DosBox? I can take pics just fine. Do you want me to upload a few?

I'd rather not support a company that buys the assets of other companies as cashcows, then fires their staffs and closes their offices. Thanks anyway.

Great site I really like a lot of the games I got from here. I was wondering if its possible to get Lords of the Realm II if thats freeware or what because that was always my favorite game but someone borrowed my CD and I never got it back.

well it seems to me that it's pretty abandoned. no one wants to sell it to me. :D
HOTU has it, as well as the addon. and it's only 60 MB! I belive we should get it. I'll check back in 2 days, if noone else will do it, I'll sacrifice some fo my free time tawards a review.
EDIT: no review. Sierra. (this hould leave no questions, but just to make sure)ESA.

I may have the original Lords of the Realm (Edit: that's Lords of the Realm II) cd lying around somewhere. I don't have time to write the review, but if there's an interest in getting this game, I'll see if I can find it.

As a1s realised, they're Sierra published and hence ESA protected I'm afraid.

I have Lords complete (first two games and some additional stuff), but I believe that this game is protected. I also use to have amiga version of the game. :)

I didn't know where else to post this, and I didn't want to annoy the Requests section with a game I don't even remember the name to. However I remember playing this great little game. You're a conqueror, or warrior of sorts. You start out on one side of a land that has 6 towns in it, and a rival warrior on the otherside. You take over a town, take care of the residents by either purchasing cows, or growing crops to feed them.

Amidst all this, you earn their trust and the more you have, the more people you can take into battle to conquer the other towns. The point of the game is to quickly conquer all six towns before your rival does, and then defeat him. At the time, I only had a demo of it. I am not sure of it's name or even the company that made it. All I have is that description. If this is in the wrong area, sorry again. :tai:

Any ideas as to which game this is? My company guess would be Sierra, but i've done a backbone search through most of Sierras titles, and the problem is they tend to forget any knowledge of old games they may have made... So if anything that info might be lost.

*moved again* :bleh:

You'd be surprised how many requests a game they can't remember - and how many rediscovers their games in this forum :ok:

At first I thought it might be Heroes of Might & Magic, but then the cows came into the picture - and I am now stranded clueless... :(

IHateSeph
07-01-2006, 02:31 AM
Damn those cows. It's actually a pretty short game. At first when I started looking for it, I thought it was Age of Empires, so I downloaded those games... And even though they're good, thats not the game I was talking about. All I remember is... That this demo came in a Civil War Strategy game, that plays kinda like Proximity. The demo of the game I am looking for was in there... Along with this other game titled "Jagged Alliance" which I know you have. But other than all this info I am stumped.

Sounds a bit like Lord of the realm, but you say it is a short game, with cows. hmmmm.

SirPeter
07-01-2006, 03:58 PM
Lord of the realm could be it. Thats not short though. :P
Is it always 6 towns? or is that just 1 level.

efthimios
07-01-2006, 05:55 PM
Hmm, after further thought, I am 90% certain that it is The Horde.

SirPeter
07-01-2006, 07:47 PM
You should stick with your first hunche :D
You start out on one side of a land that has 6 towns in it, and a rival warrior on the otherside. That makes no sence in the horde.

IHateSeph

Edit: Saw some screens for Lord of the Realms... Confirming it DOES have cows. However... The game seems a little less advanced than the version I played. I'll just have to try the demos of either 1 or 2 to see if that is the correct one. Since thats basically what I had.

some of my IRL friends have the game you are talking about but I can't remember its name either. I'll edit this topic when I remember. But the game is not ABW btw.

Evad

I also think it is "the horde" It had what's his name from growing pains in it.

IHateSeph
10-01-2006, 11:02 AM
No I finally found it. It wasn't Lord of the Realms 1, but rather part II.

The game does infact have cows, that contribute to the feeding of the villagers. The 6 towns you try to conquer while fighting The Knight (The name of the rival) was just a scenerio for the Demo Version.

Thanks for the help, guys.
