YesL Sacrifice. If anything, it's better than M&M, because the AI is better, and you're really playing off 5 gods against one another as you switch sides to increase your spells--which means you can do all sorts of different self-configurations.

Unfortunately, neither game did well, so the market hasn't been flooded with similar titles.

Try this game: http://www.fatethegame.com/

Also Dungeon Lords and Neverwinter nights sound like similar games to me...

Thought it might be a Diablo clone. Sounds like it.

I am tempted to say Lords of Chaos on the amiga system but it's turn based. Objective is the same, kill the enemy wizard by summoning your own creatures and have them do your biddings while you search for treasures to increase your experience and finally enter the portal before it's too late. LoC is actually developed by the same person that developed this game Julian Gollop.

Actually, M&M basically LoC on beefers. :) It have much of original creatures, the same system "select your magic before playing the map" and several similarities through level. But it is realtime vs turnbased, of course, and so much of system was revamped.

Also, if you like Fate, check Torchlight. :) The same thing (from the same author :), but simplier, more eye-candy and with plot and guns. I prefer third Fate, but only for it's "hardcoreness" (as far as this word can relate to Diablo 2-light). Torchlight is too easy and simple. :)

The great modern game Transistor really made me think of this old game and actually it's what led me to look it up here. I'd really love to see this game remade with a modern smooth interface.
