Hello, I like to call myself a fantasy geek. I love games that involve magic, dwarves, orcs and goblins - I'm very drawn to the setting. I love games like World of Xeen, Masters of Magic, Lands of Lore, The Eye of the Beholder series, etc. :D So, I'd like to tell me your favourite D&D / fantasy-based games! Share your opinions here, and please tell of the best fantasy games you know of!
Discuss! :max:

ADOM. Hands down. Closely followed by Mordor - The Depths of Dejenol.
Probably Baldur's Gate 1 & 2 or Torment. I haven't played any REALLY good adventure games in the fantasy setting. Well maybe King's Quest VI or Simon the Sorceror 1 & 2 then...
Well, even when Daggerfall is my all time favourite and it is a fantasy game, I'll say Baldur's Gate series, as it has a deeper plot and good scripts. Lets see what I get from Morrowind, which I finally managed to get working. Guess this Topic is going to be full of Rpg's soon, so as a representative of Adventures I should say Loom, a great game in every aspect.

Probably would have to be the Baldur's gate series.

I would say that, due to most game being set in a fantasy world of some kind or another, I can nominate pretty much any game.
Fallout Tactics it is.
If you want high fantasy games then it'll be Baldur's Gate 2 : Shadows of Amn (I thought that the add-on was either very easy or very difficult, with little balance inbetween).

King of Dragon Pass. Very original RPG/strategy hybrid, with a depth that I've yet to find in any other RPG.

*ahem* well I still stick up for the good ol' SSI games... they are definately Fantasy, but my all time favourite has to be Neverwinter Nights. It took over BG and kept me hooked... but I still play the old games more tho and Master of Magic is a good game that runs pretty well on XP :)

I'm tentatively voting Nethack my fave -- 15 years of development and play
Though I've enjoyed Morrowind quite a lot. Even tinkered a bit with the editor (mostly moving all those weapon and armour mods other people make so that they aren't ALL bunched around Balmora or Seyda Neen and editting god-statted new equipment so that they fit the stat-range of the canonical gear. I like new content but it has to match the pre-existing stuff in terms of power and genre for me to want it in there)

Oh, how could I forget?! I was going to say Nethack, until I read this post.
Ok, I'd still say Nethack's a better game in the long run, but King of Dragon Pass is amazing! One of the most original games I've ever played.
EDIT: Btw, thanks for reminding me of the game. I'll have to play it once again as soon as I get home.

My favourite is Legend of Kyrandia - by far. It was the first game I ever played and had no idea what to expect, so I was amazed by the graphics and puzzles and magical storyline.
I wish they'd do a fourth sequel. The third game in the series was a let down for me.
Fan game, anyone? Here's my wishlist:
Bring Brandon back as the main character...perhaps starting the story a few weeks before his coronation where we assist he and his grandfather in restoring the forest back to full splendour. The story to be set entirely on the island, itself, revisiting those beautiful forest scenes while also visiting new and spectacular locations on the island.
Light on the conflict and drama...full on with the magic and fun.
I should have a go myself...hehe. Pity about lack of programming skills. :tomato:

Wendy, you're Kyrandia idea is lovely. :D
Can I also add that it would be nice if Brandon and Zanthia got together. :ok:
(Big sigh) Oh well, we can always dream. LOL

Ohhh....you think so, too, Frodo? *hi-fives you*
Brandon and Xanthia....hmmm...what about Marco, though?

I've always thought of Marco as more of a mischevious little brother.
Edit
High-fives Wendy back :D

I've had the same experience with Gothic,
it wasn't my first RPG but without a doubt the best rpg i've ever played..
Such a huge world made with such a devotion and passion..
it really gave me the feeling to be a part of the game ..
to be the hero instead of playing the hero.
The game has 3 Chapters with over 40 h of playtime and only 3 loading screens between the entire game time.
I really felt in love with the game when i played it for the first time..
If you didn't played it already buy it and enjoy the intensive feeling.. u won't regret it.

I might as well mention it. For me it's Morrowind, hands down. Beat even Gothic and Gothic II.

Lands of Lore: Guardians of Destiny. It's probably my 5th favorite game of all time.
