That sure went fast. No sooner had you come here and opened a tornado of games onto the site and it seems you are already leaving. Well not for good thank God.

I hope you have a great time on Spain and accomplish everything you set out to do and of course we all hope to see and hear from you as soon as possible.

Well Tom, have a good time man. Come back soon, while you're in Spain drop by on Abandonia every once in a while.

Unknown Hero

Who will upload my games, now?
BTW I didn't get it why did tom go to spain. Is it just for vacation or...?Any explanations?

Kosta
13-09-2004, 10:41 PM
heheh, he's going in some student exchange program if I'm not mistaken. He will study medicine for a year there and also get a chance to learn spanish. Quite useful. And you can upload games yourself, I'll PM you the instructions :P

And yeah, thanks a lot people, you're forgetting this site also worked before he appeared :P Abandonia exists for several years, remember ;)

Unknown Hero

Hey I want to go on something like that, too!

@ Kosta

You said that site at the begining was crap... Tom reviewed and uploaded a lots of games, right? So he helped a lot in expanding of abandonia!

Kosta
14-09-2004, 08:39 AM
That was beginning 4 years ago... since about 2 years ago it begun expanding a lot. When I open up the news archive you'll be able to see that I did one month daily update streak all by myself :P

mika
14-09-2004, 09:46 AM
Yeah - I remember the good 'ol days before the forum and everything. You were definitely on a role at one stage, you were doing daily updates for a good ... was it a couple of months? This was the only site that the abandonware link sites were talking about because all the other ones had dies out from lack of updates and interest.

It was definitely a good idea to involve other people as the work can get split.

No one is denying your importance on this site Kosta but that does not mean we cannot be sorry to see Tom go. Especially on a personal level.

He's enjoying the sun, getting a suntan, looking at hot spanish chicks in thong, and you're all grieving over him... ;)

Tom woke me up this morning with an sms.... Asking ( I don't remember exactly what he said, I was asleep ;) ) something about how life's going "without" him :P I said it was unbearable ;)
I think he was just bored, waiting at the airport....

Poor Tom in Spain, hehe. ;)

Tom Henrik
15-09-2004, 03:39 PM
Thanks guys B)

You won't see as much from me as you did when I lived at home. One of the reasons for this is that I can't connect my laptop to the internet here (yet). So I am using one of the schools computers right now.

This means that every single file I have on my laptop for the moment is completely useless for you guys. That is correct; I can't even create a network between one of the school-computers and my laptop

Also. I don't have Messenger on these computers. So mail, and forum is the only way to speak to me right now.

I'll try to help out as much as I can, but my studies comes first. And I have complete faith in Kosta. I know that he has the qualities needed to keep a daily update policy. Especially if you keep on helping him out. Send him games, reviews and contribute to the site as you have done to now, and this site will continue to be the best abandonware site out there :ok:

Exactly!

Some people might claim that Underdogs is better, but it is slow and you don't get the help you get here.

So in closing... the quality of this site beats the crap out of the quantity of games available on Underdogs :sneaky:

Unknown Hero
16-09-2004, 10:50 AM
Go Tom. (B)eat little dogies!

BTW Underdogs are really slow. I hate when I have to wait 20min to download 1MB!

Try on other times. It's sometimes faster (usually at the night / early morning in Germany), sometimes slower.
I also don't know any site which could be better than Abandonia. All I saw so far (and I saw many) have either much less games than our site or too slow in download. B)

Chef Boyardee

hehe - im not going to advertise.. Kosta works with me over at emuring.. ..

Just me being cheeky. Abandonia is a pretty good site - one of the best ive seen over the years..

Just as im a swine.. I prefer my site..

And please people - HOTU should not even be in your top tens! quantity does not mean quality..

The Niles
16-09-2004, 05:55 PM
In HOTU defence I have found games there that are nowhere else. Their download speeds are poor yes but the most irritating thing about them is that I have not had a firewall that they allowed me to download through. Very irritating.

Back to the topic. This is the "Hope To See You Soon Tom" thread, and whoever started this thread should be very happy, because Tom is still replying, even though he is in spain.

I think he just needed the attention, <_< he is probably going to be just as active, as he has allways been. :ok:

He would probably die of boredom, if he didn't have a computer with an internet connection. Good thing the abandonia server is so stabil, if it broke down a cupple of days, Tom would probably die. Hehe  Funny

Actually.... No.

I have no way of being as active as then. If I had that option I would have thrown in games these two days we have been without any

Of course I will try to be active, but I simply don't have time to help out as much as I did before. So you must turn to Kosta, The Picard and Titan if you have something to say or if you want to help out.

And after september 20th you will see even less to me. On that day the classes begin, and I will have to work hard in order to keep up with the rest.

So in closing... you are basically on your own.

You uploaded it to the FTP-account? It depends when it's put for download - from 1-2 days to even a week or longer. Depends how much free time he has for this. ;)
