Since no one is interested, I'll simply let this thing die. Feel free to delete the whole topic :( ...

<s>This topic's aim is to start an abandonia tournament of Battle for Wesnoth. Those who are interested in playing should say so in a reply. This is nothing official so don't be afraid to join even if you've never played before (do try to make sure you can get the game to run before you do anything though).

As far as the rules are concerned, we'll do 1 vs 1. Of course, we'll pick a map and stick with it for the whole tourney. Once there are enough players, a ladder (is that the right word?) will be randomly generated. There'll be one fight at a time and we'll wait for the results before starting another one. Therefore, you can join even if you've got a busy schedule.

I hope this is a good idea! I'll edit this post as things evolve.</s>

If this doesn't generate any interest soon, I'll remove the content of the first post :P .

*sigh* please delete this topic. Most of us are online now, this has had enough views, I don't feel like maintaining a tournament no one cares about :P .

You know, it might take more than 22 hours for someone to reply...

Yup, I do know.

You know, a tournament is a lot of work. Nobody replied to the invitation in 22 hours and I've seen pretty much all the active members' names on the online list. I feel this means that the idea just isn't good enough for it to be worth it.

I was never online while this thread was open. I might be interested. If it's my kind of game and runs on my system.

.:EDIT:.
What are the system requirements?

We are not completely certain, but an x86 running at 600MHz with 128MB RAM should be adequate. Slower machines will have trouble scrolling large maps or processing AI turns with many units. See the forum thread about minimum and recommended system requirements.

Sorry, I'm 90MHz with 48MB RAM. I don't think they mean machines THAT slow.

You really have that? Wow....I can really see you don't need DosBox. I mean my computer is old too...no offense. I might check out the game, but im not a fan of games like that. (Unless your talking WarCraft or Mu Online type games.)

EDIT: 100th Post!!!

you (sheep) might want to try this on reloaded (after all the game is free, not abndoned), maybe people there will want to have a tourney.
good luck. :ok:
